Today is a sad day...I too, have had chronic breathing problems for the past 9 years, lol...since I smoke every day, I always thought I had Problems with my lungs...but yesterday, I didn't smoke and I could breathe! Smoked today and felt like my throat was closing and I was going to pass out...today is sad because it's probably going to be the last time I smoke. Stinks because I just moved to Colorado! Lol

So glad I found this topic. I'm 26 and I've smoked weed for 8 years now (about 3 years chronically). I've been no stranger to marijuana-induced panic attacks over these 8 years, but all of the symptoms usually pass within 30 minutes to an hour.

However, a few days ago I got high and had one of the worst panic attacks I've had in a long time. I can usually calm myself down on my own because I can recognize what's happening, but this time I had to have my brother sit with me because I was afraid I was really going to pass out. Since then, I've noticed I've been short on breath and have a little tightness in my chest. I smoked a few times since then because I felt a bit better, and each time I get a panic attack a little while after smoking. Until now I was convinced I had a chest cold (despite the fact that I'm not really coughing anything up) or some sort of asthma / allergy issue. It's interesting to know that a lot of people have experienced residual effects from panic attacks days after it's happened, and that may be an issue as well.

Ive found that choking a lot strains my diaphragm muscles and can make it difficult to take a fulfilling breath for a while. Ive been kept awake at night from not being able to breath freely. I think it could also be caused from mold in the buds. I also get to where I can't yawn. When I get like that I quit for a few days and everything returns to normal. A vale might solve this too but I cant afford 1 right now....

Just keep telling yourself that nobody has ever died from smoking weed. You're fine, it's just the first time you're having these feelings so it's freaking you out. I have been having these problems for about a month now and today was the first time I decided to google them because I was starting to become worried it wasn't just my anxiety causing the problems. I honestly have no clue what the problem is but I would do anything to make it stop and be able to feel the same as I used to when I would smoke. Now throughout the day I'm having trouble breathing, my heart is constantly pounding, and whenever I do smoke it almost feels like I'm tripping for some reason. It does help somewhat to take smaller rips, drink water, and stay calm, but it gets to the point where I have crazy trouble breathing. I really wish there was something else I could to do fix it without having to stop smoking because usually smoking helps me with tons of things

Marijuana & Reflux

I have been suffering from silent reflux for years and have been on every medicine with varying results. Not totally stop the continuous feeling of a lump in throat and constant throat clearing. The one thing that makes it almost 100% better is smoking weed. When I do (usually in the evenings) is the first time I feel relief.

Does anyone know why?
