try bag balm, it is an antiseptic and i use it at bedtime on my lips as well as my hands when they are really dry , works wonders
but do check the ingredients just in case there's something in it you already know you are allergic too. i too, had to quit using
Chapstick because of redness around the lip area!
I have recently been through this same thing... Lips swollen and bumpy from STRAWBERRY CHAPSTICK ...i haven't used anything else but that so that narrows it down... Swollen lips with bumps on and around my mouth and its not Herpes or anything that is a annual requirement for our job to stay clean and healthy so we can work when needed and no I am not a escort I am a LPN.... and they keep track of the best...

Do not use chapsticks or balms daily, there is no need to an your lips soon become reliant on it to be moisturized preventing them from moisturizing themselves, your body does that job for you most days, i see too many girls these days use chapsticks and balms excessively and one thing they usually don;t seem to recognize is that they don't drink enough water, lip and mouth dryness are usually symptoms of being thirsty, also we all have different types of bodies ad some people are just more sensitive to things to things than others, we aren't all the same, all the more reason to only use something on your lips once or twice a week, the rest of the time drink some water which will also moisten your lips.
