After reading a few posts from here, i can now determine i too share some of the allergic symptoms to marijuana. Though i never used pot before but I tend to get very nauseous and headaches whenever im expose to it. Sux for me at concerts. But lately ive been noticing some other strange symptoms.
so im just wondering...

Is it possible that these allergic reactions can also cause some sort of psychological behavior?

Cuz for some reason whenever i pick up the scent of marijuana smoke/smell around me, i tend to either get an anxiety attack or get crazy mood swings, anger mostly.

You guys are absolutely ridiculous marijuana is virtually harmless and allergic reactions are rather uncommon. When an allergic reaction does occur it is typically mild and treatable at home. Not trying marijuana because of the possibility you might be allergic to it is like not trying a new prescription drug your doctor gives to you because you think you could be allergic to it... The odds are basically the same. And anyone who suffers from an adverse psychological effect most likely already has some form of untreated mental illness.

Hey all Ive been smoking marijuana for 4 years now I read all of your problems.. People with the trippy highs i have a question. You mentioned tht you can feel your heart beating fast. I want to know if you can feel ur pulses going faster while u can feel everything that happens in ur body. You feel hot and cold on both sides. Just from taking a hit.? Ill tell you how to stop this shitty trip. First DONT LAY DOWN this is a symptom of a 'head high' your body wants excercise so do it! Drink alot of water and eat alot of food. This is called munchies and cottonmouth these come up for you to get the thc outta ur system so ur high wears down if u hate it. And Run a mile or so and drink water after you will feel good and the high you shouldnt even notice. U might get hurt cuz im guessing ur dizzy as f**k! dont worry guys  you'll live this just means ur a starter. Once you start smoking everyday you'll be fine and if u get rashes or bumps or such i suggest quiting those are allergic symptoms! have fun guys btw I quit due to having a lovely gf to guide me stay safe guys

Many of us have allergies to cannabis (a plant). Therefore it is a good idea to use oil instead. NO FLAME should be involved. Use a vaporizer such as the volcano digit to carefully release THC. For cannabis, use an ultra fine screen to trap particulate. Clean your equipment using 99% isopropyl frequently and thoroughly. The good thing about going with a volcano is you know the company will be around for a long time, they are german (dont do anything half assed), and they sell top quality replacement parts at reasonable prices.

Using oil is far preferable to cannabis plant matter, as there is simply far less volume of it passing through your vaporizer. There is no particulate to react with your allergies. (I have a contact allergy; I can feel the effect of this contact with my airways immediately.) The straight valve kit from volcano includes a wire mesh for use with oil.

Another important consideration for anyone using thc....YOU ALL HAVE A MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCY.

The mechanism of action for thc involves magnesium. Your body also uses magnesium in tandem with calcium in the central nervous system. Your high not feeling as strong? Feeling edgy, anxious, twitchy? These are all signs of magnesium deficiency, a condition which is present in many people who do not use thc. Its hard to find magnesium in foods, therefore it is necessary to supplement for magnesium. The grocery store magnesium supplements are c**p, do not bother with them they are a waste of time. Go for a high quality, health food store MAGNESIUM CITRATE POWDER such as the magnesium "calm" drink. It is sold as a stress-relieving drink, no surprise now that you understand what it does. It works near instantly to "calm" your nerves. All this came from an M.D. that has a volcano and vaporizes oil.

Its easy to make your own oil using 99% alcohol...google it. Oil + Volcano + Magnesium citrate supplement is a recipe for stoner bliss. Easy on your lungs, your oil or weed will go twice as far, saving money. You will have highs like the first time you ever smoked. Its important to work hard, but how you enjoy your downtime is your business...make sure you are doing it in as healthy a manner as possible.

Funny story - to be honest, I've never smoked marijuana in my life, but I recently moved into a sharehouse where the people I board with do smoke joints and use bongs. The first time I was around it, I suffered what at first seemed like my 'normal' allergy symptoms; watery eyes and a runny nose. But from just half an hour of sitting with people smoking a joint, I got so ill that I could not get up from my bed for 2 days. I was hideously nauseous and could not trust myself to walk straight. Because of that I try not to be around when they bring the weed out. I don't want to force my opinions on people and ask them to stop altogether. But yeah. The symptoms I've had are watery eyes, runny nose, fatigue, sore throat and nausea. So I do believe that it's possible to be allergic to marijuana, unlike some very close-minded people I've had the dubious pleasure of talking to.

Hi, I have smoked pot on and off for 15 years, helps me with stresses from work. ( And -No i don't and never have smoked at work) just for the weekends to help to relax and wine down. But now due to a very nasty reaction and or allergic reaction. Basiclly the following day after a smoke I'll have to go to the toilet quite frequently and man it burns like hell. Acid leaking from the anus, I have to shower after every pass, followed by sitting in a warm bath to try and re-leave the excruciating pain. I only just start having this issue and have narrowed it down to both beer and pot. Trying both individually weeks apart, and yes only these two ingrediance bring on these symptoms

hello.
hey, beer does that to me when i drink big quantities and i dont eat enough. feels like acid burning my anus and i go to the toilet often. i dont see how smoking pot could do that (ive been smokin everyday for 7 years), it sounds like like a reaction to alcohol. are you eating enough when u drink?

I am going through the same thing. I am hoping to get my Dr. to test me so I can get a Medical Marijuana allergy card saying I'm allergic. Right now I am a living joke and no one believes me. I play games with a group of older adults who like to quote that no one has died from weed yet the fact is that approximately 100 people per year do die from anaphylactic shock from Marijuana. No one has died of an overdose is a different story. An in depth study done in Europe shows that there is a correlation of allergy symptoms in alcohol drinkers and those allergic to peaches or tomato.

Most of what I see are side effects, not symptomatic of THC allergeries.

Also alot of what I see sounds like tainted bud or anaerobically decayed marijuana which causes these symptoms in ANYBODY.

Certain strains work more or less on paranoia and heart rate, so the strain you choose, how it was grown, and how it was cured will make all the difference between a reaction, false positive and a pleasant experience.

You control your high as alot of it is mental, so be positive, don't focus on side effects.

Science is the answer.  Experiment and find out.

Hello, I am not an expert but have been doing a lot of reasearch over the past few years due to the same issues. An Allergic reaction to anything including THC or other chemicals added to the plant can cause swelling, aching and twitching. I have had these issues for a few years now, have gone to specialists, doctors and none in which could figure out the issue. Upon further research I have discovered many people having the exact same types of reactions. It may not be caused from the THC itself but possibly added chemicals to help growth, potency and the like. Unfortunately the only thing that can be done is to give it up. For me, it's getting to the point that I wake up with my right eye swollen shut, the muscles/muscle in behind my eye throbs or gives off a constant pressure. I find myself constantly rubbing my eye. My sinuses also plug up. My ears, eyes, nasal passage, all of it feels plugged up/pressured and due to worry and stress it makes it 1000 times worse. I am sorry if I couldn't answer everyone's questions but if you are indeed experiencing these symptoms, it is best to stop smoking. You may not notice any change in your sinuses for a while rest assured, the body will heal in time. As mentioned in other forums, it may take months to even a year for the chemicals to fully detox from your body, so please be patient. Again, you may not notice any hastey changes but it will repair itself in time, just hold in there.
