Never had a problem with it in 25 30 years on and off --- never offended - 20 - 25 years alcohol was my crime but alcohol is legal & alcohol was my 1st suicide DWI attempt --- marijuana made me want to live clean for 3 year in march & in trade I use (abuse) alcohol --- though I know God and what'd they do with the leaf after making hemp rope Jesus? Much less you miraculously made water turn to wine at a wedding --- resistance therapy --- more so alcohol than marijuana = clean 3 years this coming march --- and I pray God more marijuana less alcohol --- recreational and therapeutic !

I allergic, i think. I started smoking mj 15 yrs ago but only in the last 3 yr ive noticed something strange and wrong when i smoke it. it started with redness under my eyes and a fast heart rate but with a strange rythem, then months later as i was smoking more and more each day my eyes started to itch and water and the redness spread and rather than just a light red it went bright red and risen and my skin was dry and the heart palputaions were very stong to the point i had to go to hospital and be hooked to a heart monitor. i thought it was hayfever at first but the docs (with out me tellin them i smoked weed) told me it was hives (urticeria) and i was put on strong anithistameans  I then slowed down my smoking and the symtems seamed to calm down but then as u do i started heavy again and then 3 days ago i changed dealers and the weed i was gettin never smelt like weed usually does and wasnt as stronge and my symtems came back with forse and worse than ever, so i flushed the weed and thought the hell with this, i need to find out wether i am allergic to weed or not once and for all, so ive bn online for 2 days stright watchin videos and reading articles on mj allergies and i was stunned at what i seen. all the signs point to me been allergic. its not smoking it that causes my reaction as such but touching it. after id have a bong or bucket i'd start feeling high and would touch my face, then the tingling would start so id touch my face more and the reaction would go out ov control and i believe it is certain strains of mj that causes it but as i never know what im getting till ive got it i cant control that.Im curretly stuck in the house coz i dont wanna leave and have folk see me with this rash which has gone down a little but is still there and my eyes wont stop watering. The only thing that is making me think i CANT be is that i last smoked 3 days ago yet my symtoms  are still prestent.I love, love, love smoking but ive decided that i have to stop, atleast for a month and see what happens. The one question i havent found the answer to is, how long after smoking can the symtems last??

Just to let you know, though this post was over a year ago, it is quite possible to be allergic to marijuana. My throat swelled up every time I had smoked it before however it was minor swelling and the high made it very much worth-while. Recently, I discovered some top-grade marijuana, thought I would be in for a treat. I was uber excited and couldn't wait to paint, draw, and write like I normally do when high as a kite. I smoked the marijuana, coughed a ton. I thought it was just really good weed. 15 minutes later, I made myself a fat bowl of cereal to satisfy my munchies...or what I thought were munchies. Before I even put a spoonful in my mouth, I could feel my tongue pressed against my teeth like it was trying to get out. I took a single piece of cereal and chewed it. I thought I had chewed my tongue off. This part was surely attributed to the high, because my tongue was still fully intact, but it should foreshadow to a very very bad experience. After that, I dumped the cereal, and decided I just wasn't hungry. I had a strange urge to repeatedly smoke cigarettes, dispite feeling like I had smoked too many because it felt like my lungs were heavy (again psychological effects playing UPON, NOT CAUSING, physical effects). An hour after smoking, I couldn't be around people. I felt like if I spoke, I would bite my tongue off. I went to the bathroom to look in the mirror, to see how the whole tongue situation was playing out and to see if I had some kind of sore throat symptoms. My throat was as big as a fifty cent piece. No big deal. I went to my room, deciding that I just needed to lay down because I was just having a bad trip. I laid down, drank some water, yet despite downing a bottle and a half, felt like my throat was dry to the point of being unable to breathe. I went to the bathroom again to check on the situation. My throat had swelled so much, the opening was about the size of a dime. At this point I realized that this was not a bad trip. My shortness of breath was real, my swollen tongue was real. I went to my room, paced back and forth with my arms spread, trying to open my airways as much as possible which, despite my belief, made things twenty times worse. I could barely breathe, gasping for air, my pulse was beating like a bat out of hell (super fast), my throat felt so dry I thought it would crumble to dust (again, the high playing on my physical being, making things worse), I was getting claustrophobic. I needed to be outside, and I needed water. Maybe the water would flush out this bad mojo. I went out-side, drank the other half of the water bottle and another after that. The effects continued. I attempted to throw up, which yielded nothing except a temporary relief for my throat as it opened while I dry-heaved. I sat at the corner of my house. I was alone, and I was probably going to die. I stopped breathing. I try hard and gasp for air. I stop breathing again. Another short gasp. My pulse is still beating insanely fast. Surely, I'm going to die. But I can't go to the hospital like this. I value my job and can't even risk the possibility of having them know about. I decide to "sleep" on the couch in case I stop breathing. Maybe somebody coming through can bring me back if they are quick enough. I lay awake, arms spread, gasping, suffering, for 8 hours. Finally I see the neighbor pull in the drive-way. She has an EPI pen. I walk next door. Between gasps: "I.......allergic....." Obviously, when you're throat is swelled up to the point of not breathing, you can neither say many words, nor are they important. She brings me back some Benadryl. The EPI pen was used when her child had an allergic reaction several days prior. I chug the bottle and wait. My heart-rate goes down...slowly. My throat opens up enough that I can breathe, but I still have to try hard. The effects last for two whole days, 48 hours, which seems like a f*****g life-time. But i'm alive...barely. Point of this REAL WORLD experience my friend is that allergies to marijuana are just as REAL as allergies to pollen, peanuts, shellfish, etc. You telling people they shouldn't be worried is retarded and you may have some kind of mental illness yourself. To everyone else, you may be allergic to marijuana, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't not try it at all. There are ways to test if you are allergic, like rubbing a Marinol pill on your skin, or even the bud itself. If you get a rash, probably not best to smoke it. If you don't, try a little. If you feel like your throat is swelling, it most-likely is (as it's not derivative of any kind of THC trip I've experienced prior), down some Benadryl and research more. Vaporizers seem to allow just the THC to be inhaled, with little or no plant-matter. It's a costly alternative to some papers, a bowl or bong but I know that I am not giving up my marijuana. I just need to be a little smarter about how my body receives it.

every time i smoke i have extreme anxiety unlike that of others around me. my lungs feel destroyed i get severe heartburn major headaches and stabbing pains all over my body. I really like smoking, and this is only a recent thing. i smoked for 7 years or so, in the last 2 years (after using spice once or twice and then absolutely never touching it again. i was also watching 3d tv with strobe glasses at the time and my vision is awful "i was not wearing my prescription glasses) i had a mild seizure and now cannot smoke weed without feeling like that is coming back. i am going to try magnesium citrate to see if this solves the problem. i also acquired acute allergic reaction to almost everything at the same time. (never having any allergies whatsoever before, not so much as a runny nose and now i suffer from chronic hay fever or urticaria) all scented products, soaps, many foods all somewhat mild allergies but VERY ANNOYING. my hives are controlled by prescribed medications. xyzal + cingulaire. I really hope that magnesium citrate solves this because my medicine does not allow me to drink alcohol whatsoever without negating its allergy suppressing effect (i get HELLA ITCHY). i will let you guys know if it helps. thanks everyone!

I AM allergic to it. If I handle hemp in any way..even lotions, rope etc I get an immediate rash and can have asthma attacks. I do need t smoke it..never have but friends do..they have to stay away from me as even inhaling the smell that clings to their clothes etc afterwards can cause me to go into anaphlaxsis...and YES it can kill you and quickly. I carry several epipens with me everywhere in case someone has smoked it and we cross their path...it takes only seconds for me to start coughing/choking/and stop breathing

I am also both hypersensitive to and allergic to Marijuana. I was once given some brownies at a party (which I did not know had MJ in them). I ate two, and within minutes started severe convulsions and vomiting which lasted for several hours. I should have been taken to a hospital immediately, but everyone freaked and left the apartment. It was so bad that after the convulsions diminished some, the people I was with carried me to my car several blocks away and told me to die there (alone), because they didn't want to get in trouble for poisoning me. To this day I can't attend rock concerts because MJ smoke will start a nausea reaction, and continued use in my presence will cause me to begin vomiting.

I am 22 years old and have smoked on and off since I was 14. from 21-21 years old I was smoking every night. Now I have had panic attacks before from smoking too much and I would just have to lay down until I calmed myself down. Well one night I was smoking and playing NHL. I decided to smoke a little bit more and all of a sudden started feeling really weird. I was trying to talk to my friends online and it felt like I could barely talk... my throat felt like it was closing up and my hands started to grasp really hard. I laid down and was really freaking out... I tried calming myself down but now my lips and tongue started to go numb and my legs started twitching uncontrollably. I believe I was having these crazy legs spasms for about an hour. I really thought something bad was happening to me but I didn't want to go to the hospital and be "that guy" who got too high. After that night I stopped smoking and for about 2 months I was getting really bad panic attacks through the day. I am now on anxiety medicine and haven't smoked since that night.

I've smoked pot about 5 times. I don't like the side effects. My face swells up as well as my eye lids swell up almost closed. I get extremely dizzy with ringing in my ears. I get paranoid and think everyone is talking about me. I can't hardly walk because I can't keep balanced. I lay down and get bed spins. I don't enjoy the high at all. Am I allergic to it?
