If the receptive partner isn't in any pain, there should be no long term health effects as a result of anal sex.
Of course, the above assumes both partners are free of disease.

When I visited the Urologist, I let him know my wife and I have anal sex, and he told me I was just as likely to receive a UTI from oral sex. A few days of antibiotics, and all was well again.
Funny thing is, he actually said I was lucky, as his wife wouldn't have anal. That's not the type of thing you expect your doctor to tell you <grin>.
