I am curious if anal intercourse is contraindicated in people on warfarin or plavix or both used simultaneously. I am on these medications to prevent clots arising in the heart due to mechanical mitral valve prosthesis, atrial fibrillation, and history of deep vein thromboses. Also, I am curious if prophylactic antibiotics should be used if there is planned anal-oral contact or anal intercourse when there is a mechanical mitral valve replacement and/or cervical neck hardware used in laminectomies and fusion. My stroke volume and cardiac output are preserved but still have congestive heart failure...will this complicate matters? Both cardiologists and urologists have been unable to answer my questions sufficiently and have not been able to adequate advise me. Thanks for your assistance.
