Every since my last colonscopy, I have had a discharge from my anus. There is mucus and a very little bit of bleeding. This is driving me crazy as I have to wear a pad all of the time.
I have not had sex in about 3 years and certianly not there ever.
Can you tell me what might be causing this?
I do have a little bit of Diverticularis my Dr said.

It happens to others as well who have had a colonoscopy. There are some complications to stretching out areas that aren't used to being dilated. No insult to you, but people who engage in anal stretching or penetrative agitation often complain about mucus leaking from their anuses. It's a sensitive subject matter so it's not talked about much or addressed because others may feel it's stigmatic or taboo. I don't know for sure why this happens, but it does happen the way I describe. Smooth muscle tissues loose their strength the older a person gets so you may notice other areas behaving differently. Something like swallowing greatly changes with age. Such a person is at greater risk of choking on food when they don't chew to stimulate the mucus membranes to keep food moving whereas before it may not have mattered.
Can you have urinary retention after a colonoscopy?
