Hi. i had my gall bladder removed a few years ago and i too experienced abnormal pain in my back not just from the keyhole cuts in my tummy. 2 weeks later when i went for my post opp appointment he told me that when they take out the gall bladder, they also have to go 'fishing" for stones and get any that may be in the duct. i had one stone that they could not fish out. they didnt tell me this when i was leaving the hopsital but when they push a stone down into the duodenum , you get a few issues with your pancreas . would have been nice to know but i had a mild case of pancreatitis, pain starting in my back and spreading across and was often a dull ache but sometimes a sharp stabbing pain . fun times. it passed but sure did have me worried.

I originally suspected a gallbladder issue because I was having lots of pain run under my ribs on the right hand side. I had a HIDA scan and I came back a little above normal so not in the percentage they feel you have an issue with. But I have pain in my back right shoulder between my shoulder blade and shoulder. And I get dizzy and nauseous and saw my surgeon says that he believes that’s what it is. But my pain is now moved from underneath my ribs to almost in between my right hip and in the middle between my right hip and the lower portion of my ribs does that you can experience that pain on a consistent basis in the middle of your right hip and the lower part of your ribs. Once again it’s not hurting me and my ribs it’s the in between area almost in the middle between my ribs in my right hip. I touch it it hurts. Is that possible that this is something other than a gallbladder issue?

It's been 5 days since my gall bladder ruptured and they had to remove it. Now I can't eat or sit without having terrible pain and severe diarrhea. Will this go away? Does anyone else have stabbing pain under rib cage and severe diarrhea after gall bladder removal?

Can I still have periodic back pain for the past 10 years from my gall bladder? It's removed. I've been to doctors, they say no, but what else? Pain feels just like I had before my gallbladder was removed.
