I had my gullbladder removed on 3/27/12 3 weeks after the pain was getting worse than before in my right abdomen around to my back was hospitalized two times with high liver enzyme numbers had my bile duct stretched out but the pain is still here. my liver numbers are back down for now but i am so tired of the pain interfering in my life. Dont want to say i was glad to see other people in the same situation but glad to know iam not alone. if you know of any test or anything that will help please let me know. Thanks
Saw surgeon yesterday. CT says pancreas OK. He is at a loss at why symptoms haven't changed, although he did indicate that maybe the gb was not the problem in the first place!! (So why take it out?) He now wants to do a sphincter of Oddy test. Entails morphine injection into sphincter to see if it is working correctly. In the meantime, still got nausea, tired, back pain and stomach pain. Sometimes wonder if we are just guinea pigs
I had my sphincter cliped and than burned i think thats how they exxplained it and than a balloon to stretche it out. I called my surgon today just waiting on a call back. I have also been told that maybe the pain never had anything to do with my gullbladder at all and maybe i have ibs idk just want to feel better Iam only 33 years old and have 2 kids and this is interfering with my normal life it also worries me because iam also a brittal type 1 diabetic.

yes, i am having the same back pain as before my gallbladder surgery, i have not had any tests done with my gastroenterologist but my primary states i could still have some stones....i passed alot of stones in my stool before my surgery and now i still have a few, not near the quantity as before, but i will see my doctor in a couple of months and i will ask, also i have been severely constipated and i have a bad colon anyway, it has not been a good thing with me either, i hope you are doing better....
one day out and am having hellacious pain in my back... and sholders... is it something I am doing wrong or just part of the healing process????
After 6 months of hell after having gallbladder out I may now be on the right track. Signs of improvement over the last week or so.
Start my day with a glass of boiling hot clear water, followed by a pro-biotic drink.
Before every meal I take a 40mg capsule of Creon (enzyme from a pigs pancreas). It's a totally natural product, not a drug. Symptoms have improved. Reduction in gut pain and nausea. Back pain still there but greatly reduced. Will keep on with this to see if things get even better.

Spoke too soon. Still feeling nauseous, still getting gut pain although back pain has slightly improved. Biggest problem is constantly feeling tired and washed out. Had the sphincter of Oddy test, now waiting for results. Another test tomorrow by a gastroenteroligist. There is not an orifice in my body that hasn't had a pipe, tube, camera (or maybe even a mobile phone) stuck down it in the last six months. Just want to feel better.

Recently had results from SOD test and they are clear. Stopped all medication (morphine for the pain). I was practically a junkie but now feel 10 times better. Occasional nausea but I can live with that. I'm told that what is happening is "normal" after GB removal. It takes a few months to settle down. I hope they are right. At the moment everything going well. Hope you follow my pattern

I had gallbladder removed about 10 years ago. I still would occasionally have a SUDDEN intense pain where my gall bladder was but it was so intermittent that I assumed I ate something that didn't agree. But it has escalated. Ten years later I am having stomach pain, high up on the right where the gall bladder used to be and the liver is, and no one can tell me why. Sometimes I am constipated and sometimes I am on the other end. I have had a CAT scan with contrast, an ultrasound, bloodwork, and tomorrow I am having the scope run down. I had a colonoscopy about 8 years ago and nothing was found and pushing that test further up the road.....I feel like no one believes me.

It;s good to know there are others out there in the same situation, although I would not wish this on anyone. I am 34 yrs old and I have three kids and I can relate to how difficult it is to live a normal life with this chronic annoying back pain. I especially hate it when my 5 year old want to play and I can't because my back hurts so much. I had my gallbladder removed over 5 years ago and have gone through so much testing and treatments since then. All of which did not work. I have not had the sphincter of Oddy test done because I cannot afford it right now but let me know how it works out for you and see if you find any relief.
