I have been experiencing this for a while now. My back pain is the worst though.
Back pain IS included in IBS people! Most of you sound like you have IBS and don't know it. Let me ask you, do you go to the toilet for number 2 multiple times a day? When you go is it usually runny? Or is it the opposite? BOTH sides of the spectrum are IBS. IBS also cuases inflammed intestines and bloating. These can cause severe stomach pain. Back pain is also included in this package for a lucky few, though back pain is one of the rarer symptoms.
I suggest heading to your doctor and mentioning you think you may have irritable bowel syndrome(IBS), because most doctors don't diagnose people with these symptoms with it. IBS is still a widely unknown condition believe it or not. Most doctors will just due multiple blood work and x-rays, and continue to say they're stumped, or blame kidney stones.
Bring IBS up! You'll likely find solutions to your problems.
it might be gallstones
This is Ajay from Bangalore, India. I was trying to find answer to similar symptoms but believe there are more discussions than solutions. I have been seeing a gasentrologist for similar symptoms (bloating, constant bearable pain in abdomen on both sides, sometimes blood in stools, back/chest pain) My test till date includes blood test, urine test, colonoscopy, endoscopy, biopsy, barium swallow x-ray and manometery in that order. I have been diagnosed with Vitamin D deficency and a condition known as Hiatius Hernia. Doctor has recommended surgery for the same and believe that the pain should be linked to it. Till date, I have been on medication for last 6 months (antibiotics, spasm reducer, IBS, laxatives, Vitamin D supplements) Things have got more predictable but symptoms have not got gone fully. Earlier my bowel motion would be erratic to an extent that i will be constipated for days and then suddenly will have loose motions. similar with stomach pain which use to vary on intensity. hopefully this surgery will put these things to rest.
Ask your doctor for a vitamin D test and an endoscopy.
This morning at around 4am I awoke from my sleep with the most excruciating pain in my lower abdomen, the worst pain I have ever experienced, I felt like somebody was ripping out my bladder from the inside out. I retreated to the bathroom where I stayed on the toilet for an hour, trying to breathe through the pain-'they felt like the contractions women feel giving in labour. The pain lasted 3 minutes but came every 5-6 minutes. The pain made me feel very nauseous and my abdomen ached. Gurgling/rumbling sounds came alongside the pain too! I had to visit the bathroom a further 2 times throughout the early hours of the morning as the pain returned and I thought it may be diarrhoea- but it was not.
It's now 2pm, and my stomach is continuously making strange noises, the feeling of losing control of my body is frightening.
Im 16 and I know this isn't normal, wha do I do?
Katie.
Good news girls i believe i have your answer. When my mom was young she too experinced this pain, i too am starting. My mom says that she went to the doctor and she told her that when a young woman reaches a certain age, an age that varries for everyone your body begins to change. For example your bathroom issusses could be the work
of your body telling you that you need a change of diet more fiber helps with constipation and allows your body to absorb nutrients propperly, when your stomach as a hard time adsorbing nutrience this makes it hard to go to the bathroom. as for the back pain when you cramp your lower back tends to hurt during this change in a woman's life. As we get older our body needs more inorder to function healthy. As for the bloating and growling stmach i too am experincing this, my mom says that gas stored in your gut causes both the best thing is to try and burp or pass gas or if you find both gross take a gass relief pill. The best thing to do is make a list of your symptoms and watch them try and stop your constipation with fiber instead of pills, pills may work for a while but they do not fix the problem, if your bloating causes sever cramps that leave it impossibe to move without experincing intense pain then your body could be trying to tell you that something is wrong, you should consult a doctor at once. Our body can and will know its in danger far before we will, its important that we learn the signs. If pain or constipation continues see a doctor, some times loud growling of the stomach and constipation means your experincig a narrowing of one of your intestines this can be very painfull and must be corrected.
Well i hope this helped your welcome and thank you its nice to know im not the only one out there with this ordeal hanging over my head.
Hi Katie this is Jamie19931029 aka Jamie I have just posted a similare case that I went through
It explains that this could be a normal change of the body or it could be signs of soething else I think you should read my post on steady health it may not be what you have but if it continues it can't be good please read my post its under the user name jamie19931029.
If yogurt helps then you could have constipation eating more fibber helps with this there's lots of fiber in yogurt when you are costipated your whole digestive track suffers also don't be afraid to eat just yogurt! Your body needs more to be healthy if you start to worsen ask the doctors to recheck the altrasounds for any sign of the narrowing of an intestine this soetimes happens and can be fixed. Also a blockage would not alow you to poop. When you have a block your body tries to get rid of it by puking and the more you do the worse it gets you get extremely weak and can even die but if yogurt works then fiber is the answer.
If not worms ask for an ultrasoud sounds weird I know but some time as I have experinced this could be a sign of a narrowing intestine this sometimes happens and can be fixed if not that it could be just regulare constipation which can be treated with more fiber intake hope this helps
Maybe just don't panic a period cycle is diffrent for each girl some girls start cramping months before they begin if things worsen get your parents to take you to the doctors to get an altrasound of your intestines to find out what's going on.
omg. I'm also a 17 year old girl and have the exact same symptoms and also have really blurred vision. I just had my vision checked and they said I still have 20/20 but I know that something is wrong. My eyes are more watery now and it feels as if there is a film over them. Have you found anything out? I don't know how much longer I can stand this, I feel like constant bloating, dizziness, fatigue, nausea and shortness of breathe can not be healthy
I'm 16, turning 17 by May this year, a girl, stomach pain for about 2 weeks now, and weird noises from stomach, now lower stomach is bloated-looking, quite gassy, had fever for one day last week and again yesterday, headache, pain in throat. I think we're all having more or less the same thing. I'm scared to tell my mom about this :/ If I go to the clinic and end up being told by the doctor that it's all in my head I am so going to slap that doctor, this is definitely not in my head. Seriously.
Have you wondered if you are allergic to milk and dairy products
I have put up with same complaints for over 40 years off and on.I to have had all the tests but never an allergy test. Some body said i might be allergic to milk and dairy products .I stopped drinking milk in my tea /know have soya milk and i have stopped eating dairy products.I am now symptom free. But if i have eaten something dairy by mistake i will get all symptoms back. This also includes chocolate because of the milk in it. Purchase LACTASE from HOLLAND AND BARRETT and see if it works for you and look up Milk and dairy intollerence,U will be surprised at the symptoms.
