i am 3 months pregnant and my tooth is killing me.im worried because i read somewhere that absesses can cause problems to your baby! and is there anything i can take as have to wait till tomorrow to be seen by anyone??
I'm 8 months pregnant and want to get a tooth pulled? my concern is, is it safe for both me and the baby at this time?
I am 34 weeks pregnant and just started having a major toothache. I went to the dentist today and he said it is safe to have teeth extracted with novocaine, it will not harm the baby. Also he said I could have a possible infection with the top back teeth or it could be my impacted wisdom tooth. He prescribed amoxicillian to me to see if the pain goes away and as any expectant mother I had concerns about taking it. He said it would cause no harm to the baby. Hope this little bit of info helps any other mommy-to-be with their toothache questions or concerns.
Did you ever find out if Orajel Maximum Strength was okay to take during pregnancy?
Having a tooth pulled without being able to take anything but tylenol afterwords is a HUGE fear of mine. Ive been using the orajel paste when the pain is really terrible, my doctor said it was safe to use in moderation but it doesnt really do much for the pain. Im 8 monthes pregnant with twins and have been battling tooth pain the entire pregancy. Everyone i know tells me that although the tooth pain i feel now is bad...having a tooth extracted surgically (which is what i would have to have done) is CRAZYNESS! Im really in a hard place. I want this to be over with, but having an oral extraction and not being able to take any pain medicine afterwords is scary to me. But then again, waiting to have it pulled when i have two newborn babies to take care of (alone) Is going to be just as bad. I really dont know what to do! I havent tried clove oil...but i heard alot of conflicting things about it...Any advice?
i am 5 months pregnant and my top and bottom left side just kills me every night, my filling fell out and i dont know whats wrong with the top. I'm suppose to take pinacillon for 7 days but this doesn't help with the pain. the pain gets so bad that i get a ear ach than it evolves into a big headache. I believe the pain puts my baby in stress as the pain is so bad i cry. i tried salt water rince only last 5 min tylonol doesn't work, i took a mild morphine but i looked it up and that can cause defect if you continue taking it. what can i do for six days? before i see the dentist again

you can not get a root canal if you are pregnant. There are just some things you can not do while you are pregnant and that is one of them. I am five months pregnant now and my dentist and midwives told me that dental work is a no no because there aren't many things you can take to ease the after pain of such procedures. Please don't listen to people when they say get a root canal because you don't want anything to harm you or your unborn while pregnant if you're anything like me. Hope you feel better
Try garlic! It works well for me. Well it doesn't take away all the pain but it does alleviate it a little. I'm like most of you who got here looking for answers. Dentist said I can't get my tooth extracted, I can't get a root canal either. I've been in and out of the dentist's clinic this month, each time she'll finish fixing something another set will start acting up. I don't know what's happening to my tooth. I'm not allowed to take pain medications either because Im 6 months pregnant. I can only take biogesic but it doesn't work!
What's worse is that the dentist had the pasta filling removed to let the tooth breath, she said its the best she could do to lessen the pressure. But each time food gets into that huge hole in my molar I'd be in excruciating pain. The worst pain I've ever experienced. Like a horse kicked me in the face and someone's trying to rip little shreds off of my cheeks.
I now have a tiny bit of garlic stuck in that hole in my molar, each time I remove it the pain comes back so I'd have to keep it in there and risk smelling like garlic bread in the morning.
Please this is a serious matter don't liar
I was told by a dental assistant that you can have a cavity rot completely out of your mouth and never feel a thing until you start to get an infection in that tooth that is what causes a toothache an infection in the tooth that has a cavity in it so an easy remedy to take the infection away and cause the pain to stop is to take hydrogen peroxide the kind used for scrapes and cuts and pour some into your mouth and hold over tooth no need to gargle just hold it in mouth over tooth by the holding your head to the angle the tooth is at you will feel it foaming up taking out the infection if you do this 3 times a day for 2 days by day three the toothache will be gone i have had bad teeth since i was 6 have been going to the dentist all my life on a regular basis and this remedy is a life saver it works guaranteed dentists wont tell you that as it saves you from a hefty bill until you can afford dental work or toget thru your pregnancy or even to hold you thru holidays or weekends just hold it in your mouth with the tooth submerged for like a minute spit and then rinse your mouth out with water or brush teeth Its probably not good to swallow in large amounts even though you can find many studies saying that peroxide is a miracle cure but its in diluted quantities you will have to check into that later so make sure not to swallow just hold for a minute spit and rinse its a miracle worker
I am currently dealing with some teeth pain as well. Lower right molars.
It took me 3 days until i said "enough". I went to my dentist truly thinking I was going to need a root canal just to find out that my teeth are looking perfectly normal. She took an x-ray just to be sure. My gums are a bit inflammed but that was it. My dentist said it is very likely the baby sucking the calcium out of me (oh the joys of being pregnant haha) and weakening my teeth. She recommended that I start taking some calcium pills to help.
So once you get checked by your dentist you will have a better idea of what the situation is. I was a lucky one because i truly thought it was a lot worse than it was.
so true
