My dog has developed bit of a belly and I think it is time to put her on a diet! She really loves her food and I do want her to still have something nice to eat, so I am hoping for some good recommendations about diet foods for dogs. She is a golden retriever, if that makes any difference. Thank you in advance for any tips.
Oh, there are a lot of great diet foods for dogs on the market now. If your dog enjoys the food that she is currently getting then you might want to check out the diet version of that. We use pedigree pal and our dog loves it. But basically, whatever that you are using at the moment must have a diet version if it is good quality dog food.
I have had dogs for the last twenty years, so I have some experience with dogs getting a bit of a tummy as well! Usually I don't bother with any of the diet foods - when I started having dogs there wasn't any of that about anyway. I cut the treat out of their diet altogether, and lower the amount of food I put in their bowls when it gets to mealtime. In addition, I try to take them out for runs more often. Hope that helps!
