I seriously thought I was the only one who got these. I get them in all over the place. On my very upper inner thigh, basically where my underwear ends, on my butt but close to edge of the cheeks.. I don't know what causes them, I'm going to start making note of where I get them, how long they last, how big they get and such so I can explain it better to my doctor.. Since I notice that I don't always have them and can't figure out what was different when I didn't have any. They just started showing up about a year ago and I've had some really bad ones.. Ones that hurt to walk, hurt to sit, hurt to touch it! It's really bad. I had one about a month ago that was about the size of a quarter on the surface but you could feel a ball under the skin the almost the size of a ping pong ball. It was huge and really freaked me out, It took forever to pop! I tried putting creams on it that I would use for my face acne, hot compress, squeezing it everyday to see if it would pop and nothing worked I contemplated stabbing it with a needle or something but I was too scared (&& didn't have a needle handy) one day I was just messing around and pressing on it and it popped. It was an instant release of pressure and drained a lot of blood. It just kept going, my toilet looked like I had my period it was that bad. then it became very painful to touch or if anything rubbed on it a smaller bump was stil there for a couple weeks before it was gone.... That was the worst one I had.. About a week ago I got another one on my butt cheek and I felt this pain while I was walking through school I instantly went to the bath and it popped immediately and wouldn't stop bleeding that it actually left a blood mark on my underwear.. I believe that one was from my cheeks rubbing together and causing that I could just feel that it was the problem. I don't think I've ever had one pop anything other than blood. And it's a deep red liquidity blood. They turn black, blue, purple if I press on them to much or even some just appear that way. It's so weird and I want to know how to stop it. I don't wear jeans at all so I always thought it was because of the harshness of the fabric rubbing against my skin, but I still get them while wearing leggings. I'm so embarrassed to show my doctor because it's just awkward putting everything down there on display. I'm starting a skin study for acne research this week and I hope it helps with these but I don't know if it will because I don't think they're acne. But the medince is an antibiotic so maybe it will because I read someone say they went away while on antibotics. Fingers crossed it works and will update on here if anything changes. But if anyone knows any other remedys for them please share!

These are infections, caused by a type of bacteria that live on your skin. They often appear in areas that are warm and may be moist (perfect breeding ground for bacteria). There is no cure, but weight, hormones (your period), smoking and a poor diet can all be factors. Some doctors may prescribe a small dose antibiotic that you would take daily, but I found that that option caused me to have chronic yeast infections. I have been getting these boils for about 10 years, always around the end of my period, and anywhere from 1-3 at a time. Popping them can relieve the pressure and pain but could leave pock mark scars all over. Best to clean the skin with alcohol and wait for them to pass. In my experience they are gone in a week or so.
