Hi, I too have this problem.
I've had it for a few years and have never known what it is.
Its kind of like a ball of blood under the skin, and sometimes when you sit down and you have one on the underside of your thigh they hurt as you sit on them. I have popped a few of them and had blood come out but after a few days they dissapear.. on average they come back every few months.
I usually get 1 - 3 of them. 2 on 1 leg and 1 on the other.
Always in the inner thigh.
The blood that comes out of them is kind of a bright red colour, almost like the blood was mixed with something else like puss, its not a normal deep red blood colour.
I too would love to know what this is.
Its a bit embarrassing to go to a doctors about, so I thought I would check out on the web first.

Sounds like you may have a staph infection. Only the dr can cure that.
I had one come on my belly. It too looked like a nipple. Surgeon opened it and never saw so much blood. Two months now and hasn't closed up completely yet. Shook me up when dr. called it MRSA. Hoping once the bump has cleared I won't have another one. Good luck to you. Oh, staph is EVERYWHERE. On EVERYTHING. So it is easy to get it.

I too have this problem. I've come to find out that it is an ingrown hair. The longer it stays the more noticeable it becomes, and at that point, if popped, is dark red/black. If popped early on, it's bright red. I believe its because sweat and dirt was trapped in the pore when the hair became ingrown, thus a slight irritation/infection. I find it always on my inner thighs because I'm a little chunky there and they rub together when I walk/run/move, and when I do extensive activities to sweat, a day after is when I'll find it.

Hi, this happens to me all the time. It started when I was in high school and progressively got worse and worse. Mine sometimes grows to the size of a quarter before it pops with yellowish green puss along with blood that oozes out. So gross! I have one right now in fact. I didn't have one this morning but had one after work. Never really bothers me because it comes and goes. But lately it's coming one too often and I am embarrassed when I am intimate with my boyfriend.
I just got back from the doctor. He use to work with a plastic surgeon in London and he says this happens all the time, and mostly to women. It’s one of the most common consultations they get in the clinic. It's a staph infection. We constantly have bacteria living on our skin. We also have this protective layer that keeps these bacteria from entering. Friction from our thigh rubbing together wears that protective layer down therefore letting that bacteria enter our skin. This bacterium causes inflammation and puss. This makes perfect sense to me because I was wearing a dress today hence the thigh rubbing together. He says it has nothing to do with hygiene at all. He also says this is nothing to be embarrassed about athletes get them all the time. It occurs under the arms, groin area and the crack of our buttock.
He said unfortunately, there’s no cure. And chances are you will get them again and again. However, there are things you can do to make it less frequent. He gave me antibiotic to get rid of the bacteria. It’s called ARYTHROMYCIN, three times a day for seven days. He said most doctors will give you enough for 2 days because that’s how quickly it will take to make it go away but that won’t work. Because it will come back again taking it for two days will only make that bacteria resistant to the antibiotic. Taking it for seven days will ensure the death of all the bacteria. The other thing he suggested was an over the counter skin cleanser called 2% CHLORHEXIDINE. He said to use it in the shower, on the groin area, armpits and the crack of the buttock. He also said don’t rinse it right away leave it on for one minute before rinsing. Again, unfortunately this is something you will have to do for the rest of your life. He said that doing this routine will lessen the frequency up to one every two to three year.
This must be common because he gave me enough antibiotics for three boils. He said the moment it looks like it’s going to start, take it right away, three times a day for seven days.
I hope this helps, I am glad to finally get the answer to this painful disgusting boil on my inner thigh.

Have any of you looked into Hidradenitis supertiva? That's what I have and it sounds exactly like what most of you are talking about. There is no cure for this either unfortunately.

A couple of years ago i had this horrible bump on the enside of my leg and part of my labia... it hurt so bad i couldn't walk sit stand or do anything... sleping hurt... everything just hurt. i went to the dr.s and they told me it was a bartholin cyst and i needed to get it lanced. It was one of the worse experience ive ever had with these bumps on my inner thigh... it was basically a cyst that was blocking two glands and it got to the point of being so infected that i couldn't move... i had no warnings or any pain leading up to it.. it just happened. i never noticed it on my thigh it just seemed to appear out of no where. I definitely recommend going to a dr. asap before this happens to you. i also gt the bumps still on my inner thighs but not as bad as that.
The dr. also recommended taking hot baths or hot packing it. I used a wash cloth and hot water... yuo can control how hot the water it and you can keep applying heat to it a lot easier... but a also used old water bottles with hot water in them to soth pain from ovarian cysts so i recommend that as well. This will help you open the pours and ease the pain of the staff infection or cysts. it will also help you pop them easier.

Interesting. I too have discovered a smallish lump high up on my inner thigh. So high that it is difficult for me to see it. Thinking it might be a trapped hair or clogged pore I squeezed it and nothing but pure blood came out. After I drained the blood it went down in size for a couple weeks but has since returned to its former size. It does not appear to be infected. I have recently taken up road biking and this area is under a lot of pressure and friction (small seat and lots of pedaling). I did some quick research and the best description I can find leads me to believe that it is a "Cherry Angioma" see this link . The lump is uncomfortable and a little painful when i ride. I plan to talk to a Doctor about having the lump removed and the bleeding stopped by laser or electrocautery.

I thought it was just me with these things. I just popped one the other day. It was on the edge of my inner left butt cheek. I felt it under my skin Saturday night and Sunday morning, it felt like l was pushing on a water filled balloon under my skin. I pulled it with my thunb and index finger, rolling it in my fingers till I felt fluid. I noticed bright red blood with no pus. I quickly used a Kleenex to squeeze out the rest. Nothing but bright red blood. It didn't hurt after that, but the lump is still there. It gets smaller every day, but it's still annoying. I wish I had some lidocaine, I would have lanced it.

hey, i had like a pimple thing on my stomach and then it kind of turned into a big red lump and i had to go and get antibiotics from the doctor, but cause i left it for a few days the infection was bad and they had to like pull all the nasty stuff out. i would recommend going to the doctors asap just to avoid extra pain, they'll give you antibiotics for about a week and hopefully should sort out the infection. mine had to be dressed twice a week for over a month :\ not too fun...
