I also have a spot/bump onn my back between by shoulder blades. At first I thought ist was a regular spot and tried to get my wife to "pop" it but in the 3 days it's ben there, it's only gotten bigger. I usually have a shower as it's easier with 2 kids running around, is it THAT much better to soak it?
I asked my dad about it and he suggested witch hazel (bought from any chemist) to be applied directly to the spot/bump and that will help to draw out any infection to the surface.
!! SCIENCE WARNING !!
The trick with spots and bumps of this kind seems to be anti-oxidants, which are very good for the skin in general as it opens pores in the skin, helping to release dirt and infection.
Hi. I actually have the same thing, I have not seen it and I don't know if it's red but it does hurt really bad. It started off small, but now has grown. It is pretty thick and is keeping me from walking normally and laying on my back. Is it the same thing as all that has been mentioned earleir? I really do not want to go to the hospital and hope to heal it soon! Thanks!
I have an issue rather similar. Within the course of a few hours, a lump appx 1 1/2 - 2" in diameter shower up on my lower back along with a moderate throbbing pain. The lump isn't round as it has a few lumps of its own 0.o... Absolutely positive that it had to appear entirely within the course of 2 hours or less. I've squeezed the sh*t out of it and get a whole lot of nothing. Doesn't seem to be growing much but the pain has been getting worse and has been becoming discolored. Not quite a red but more of a blackish/grey. Around this time, I've gotten a slight fever around 100.5 F and its persisted throughout the last couple days. Any advice besides going to the doctor?
Wow, I have the same thing that just appeared over night just below the shoulder blade. Like a big red pimple but flat. Been there for 3 weeks and never came to a head or "leaks" As your post is 4 weeks old I was wondering how you made out....
I've been getting a pus type pimple at the end of my backbone where the but line starts. First what happens is I feel a soreness in that area which later turns into a pimple and then bursts and removes pus and blood regularly. The process takes about two weeks. Its been happening for the past few months with intervals of 3 to 4 weeks.
I have had similar deals on my back usually. The one time I went to a doctor was when it kept bleeding for 3 days straight and I had to put bandages on it so it wouldn't get all over the bed when I slept. I have one right now which is red and has a black hole in the middle. These things suck I don't know what causes them as I shower at least once a day so I don't think it is uncleanliness. Anyone else have an idea of the cause of these things? They heal over time and what I have found that helps is a hot and wet washcloth put over the lump as it will draw the infection out. Tea tree oil will also help, but you may want to dilute it a little bit (apply directly to lump). I poured hydrogen peroxide on it today so I will see if that helps it at all.
Sounds like an sebaceous cyst or just an infected sebaceous gland. Both of them tend to have "focus" point near the top, which is the pore leading down into the gland. The infection can also spread to adjacent glands. I had one last year that had about 5 glands infected. I crawled under my truck and when I laid down there was a very noticeable "Pop" and all 5 went at one time. Nothing but clear fluid came out, but it soaked the back of my T-shirt.
