What sort of stomach or liver problem did they say that you have? I am not sure if I understand what your diagnosis is. Can you tell me what was meant by that?
Hi, I am a 25 year old, stressed out, anxiety-prone women. I thought i would reply to this ad because I am really worried about my doctors appointment this Friday, November 20, 2009. Okay so here the story begins.....
In July 2008, I moved back to London, England (I was there for a year and a half before hand) to finish up college. I stayed with 3 boys, and was very embarrassed about using the bathroom when they were home. I was severely constipated, I would prevent myself from using the bathroom. It was embarrassing to me, so bathroom time was a hush-hush topic. In December 2008, I noticed when I whipped I had a faint pink residue on my tissue. I did not worry too much. I wasn't going properly (I would sometimes go a week without using the restroom, and when I did go it was hard pellets). In March, the pink went to a bright red and there was mucous that came with it.
I returned home in March, 2009 and tried to get my diet on track. In June, I was still having trouble pooing and would have red drops in the toilet and tissue. Then I had this horrible pressure (I am a fashion designer, so sitting a lot sewing was what I did) inside my anus (it was were my tail bone was but inside). I felt pressure and discomfort, and took a bath and then put a heating pad on it. This helped, but when I passed a stool, more then usual blood came out (making my pressure feel so much better). The next day I went to the GI specialist (my mom works there , and insisted). The doctor did some test and looked at my butt (I would not let her put her fingers up me, I am a wimp. ) She found nothing around the anus, but suggested a Colonoscopey. I was like no way. She gave me Anusol and I used it for 2 weeks, it help. However, after this use, I noticed more blood, mucous, I was really gassy, and when I went to pass the gas, sometimes the stuff would be in my underwear. (so gross, I know). It took me a good amount of cancellations and 5 months to get the courage to do the procedure. I must say that my blood work came back good, but I did have a very mild case of anemia (which I was use to because I was a vegetarian). I am a very tiny girl, 5'6 about 103 lbs.
Okay so the prep was not bad, if you have a sensitive stomach and have constipation, do the prep in 2 days. I did the Miralax prep, without the dolecalax tablets. I was clean as a whistle. I was so afraid of the prep, because I have not had diarrhea in forever, I can't even remember the last time. So I was afraid that the prep was this, but it was not, it was easy. The hard part was the procedure itself. Because I was so nervous (my blood pressure was 124 before I even had my iv in), it took them forever to get me sedated (I did not use anesthesia, but I do recommend it for everyone!) So yeah, I woke up in the middle of it and that is all I will say, it was horrible! The doctor said that I do have a hemorrhoid inside and there was some inflammation in my sigmoid area, he said it looked like Ulcerated Colitis, but was shocked that I had no signs. They took some biopsy. My mom works in the office, so she had them look at the results before hand, the test said I just had mild inflammation, but they were all clear, and that the inflammation could be from the prep for the colonoscopey. Well that was a relief until yesterday the doctor said she wanted to see me on Friday to discus the results and treatment. I asked my mom why she said this, and my mom said they are having another person look at the test, because I should not be bleeding every time I pass stole. Mom also said that the doctor said I do have a mild inflammation in my biopsy, and she said they might put me on medicine. I am freaking out! I don't know what I would do if I had UC or anything for that matter. I hate taking medicines (I have a very sensitive stomach and freak out with the littlest pain.
So I am just waiting to meet with her, hoping for the best. I mean can they diagnose you wrongly? All I can say is I am scared and I will write back when I hear the news. Thanks for listening.

Was your area ever subjected to vector spraying for West Nile Virus? My daughter has had the same symtoms since 9/11/07 a few weeks after our county sprayed Pyrethrin with piperonyl butoxide at our house and her school's zip code. The CDC is investigation sporadic cases of hemmorhagic colitis according to my 9 year old daughter's pediatrician. The substance in the vector spraying in the same as the substance in the EPA's warning of spot on flea and tick treatments for pets resulting in 700 products being recalled recently.
im not sure what i have all i no is that it really hurts exceptionally when i have a bowel movement. i think its a anal fissure or whatever but im not sure it was hurting a few days ago and still is. and when i dont have a bowel movemnt I feel an annoying lil pain not all that bad but i feel it all day. i keep getting this disharge of a clear pinkish (blood) discharged mixed with white bits and i dont no what to do. can someone help me find a way to relieve these symptoms
can someone help me find a way to relieve these symptoms
I had the same symptoms sudden onset assumed it was food poisoning but after 5 days saw a Dr. Turns out in my case it was camphylobacter and a 5 day script of Cipro cured it completely. I live in Ethiopia full time so they are so used to seeing these kinds of things but I really think it happens in first world countries too and is misdiagnosed as IBS, stress, etc. since they just don't see parasites and bacteria in people as much. Here it's just every day living. I thought I would just share since it may provide relief for others.
I am 38 and have the same issues and gets worse when I am on my period. I am going to see a gi specialist. so scared, and I have pain in my rectum area. Do you have more pain when on your period/
Have you done a parasite cleanse? Or taken those types of herbs? Wormwood, black walnut, cloves etc, apparently cinnamon, garlic & onions also help....search on parasite cleanse etc
Thanks for sharing this info,. I've been having rectal bleeding and mucous and leaking it and stool when passing gas...Just knew it had to be from Chantix since that is when the problem started. Now I am thrilled that I am smoke free for the past month...however in Oct I was hospitalized for a bleeding Duodenal ulcer that was close to perforating and this really has me very nervous. I am wearing a large pad during the day and heaven help me a large washcloth folded at night for the leakage...Now I know I have to get hold of the Dr..this can't continue, I don't want to chance the smoking again...still get cravings a couple times a day...but then again, dying from a perforated ulcer or creating Chron's disease from the meds is not an option! Thanks for your candid sharing...and gross as it is I hope mine helps someone too
Could be an rectal fistula which is how my Crohns disease was first diagnosed. I had what felt like a pulled muscle in my butt cheek for a few days and then one day it just popped inside (sorry this is so grafic but I'm hoping it helps you) and blood, greenish/yellow mucus poured out of my anus. There was no clue externally that anyting was going on before it blew-no swelling, just a slight discomfort in the muscle because of it's location. If you didn't have any discomfort prior it could be that it didn't get very large or the location was different. A fistula is like an abcess and mine was the size of a grapefruit which is why so much poured out of me. I ended up having surgery where the dr. cut a path from the fistula to the outside of my skin to allow it to drain, this is now a continual issue for me, it is still open (now has been 3 years) and drains everyday , all day in various amount. It has reinfected on several occasions that has landed me in the hosptial for several days on heavy iv antibiotics and dr.'s looking at my anus 4-5 times a day-very degrading disease! Anyway I sure hope this is not your issue, but if it is it is very important to get it taken care of immediately! There are other options of treatment, sometimes just antibiotics can kick or they sometimes can put a plug in after it's drained or sutures that dissolve and tighten the passageway as it heals from the inside out. I wish you the best of luck and good health-DONT WAIT
I am concerned now, with chantix. I have also used chantix. Gratefully quit smoking, but also suffering the same symptoms of colitis. I'm sorry folks, but I am seeing a red flag. I have always been a runner, but find it very difficult with the pressure and mucus, same as discussed topics. I feel there is a definite relationship with chantix. Can we look at any similar stories with chantix? Thank you.
