All women drink now and then ,why do you ask. I have it too and now don't need all these tests if they've shone nothing.
My Dr and dentist both said it was because I grind my teeth.
Interesting...I too grind...kp
I have the same thing on both sides of my neck. This is the only place I have found describing it. Yet MRI showed nothing and I have seen multiple doctors. How can we all have it but no medical professional can tell us what it is? We need answers!
After visiting so many doctors for different symptoms such arthritis, back pain, digestion problems and swelling on neck and shoulders, last doctor found out I have Hashimoto's and EBV infection. Now I noticed the swelling above my collarbones and it does not go away. I will get CT scan for the area soon but it seem to be liquid there, I guess my lymphatic system is overactive after infection from EBV and the Hashimoto's.
I posted my picture on Facebook group page about EBV and many people from the group reported they have the same problem. Do we have the option here for posting the pictures?
I just noticed the same symptoms today and m dr doesn't have a clue as to what it is. I do have a horrible cough and cold symptoms so she put me on a z-pack and crystal pearls for the cough. I hate going to the doctors anymore they have no clue. I hope it's nothing to worry about and I'll just keep watching this post. Good luck and keep us up to date please!
I have noticed this swelling on both sides off and on for the past year. I am 55 and have been in peri-menopause since my early forties, but in March of this year it has really kicked my backside with hot flashes, panic attacks, skipped beats, insomnia and more. I am a fitness instructor so I'm pretty healthy. I have a theory that these swellings are related to hormones, overexertion of the upper body, and possibly allergies. I know that at least a couple of times both hot flashes and soreness from my workouts have coincided with these swellings.
I am a 50 yr. old female. Had total thyroid removal 3 yrs. ago for a very small papillary thyroid cancer & had C5 thru C7 vertebrae surgery also back in 2009. Have been diagnosed with degenerative arthritis of spine. Have C4 & C5 bulging discs in neck now that may need surgery. I noticed about 4 months ago, it felt like when I was at work on computer that my neck muscles felt tight and I rubbed my neck and it felt weird like sort of puffy so I looked in the mirror and it was swollen right above my collarbone on left side between my neck and shoulder and it pretty much was tight all the way around to the back of my neck...then after a couple of days, the right side got like that and it doesn't hurt at all but the swelling is not going down and it feels like fluid is in there. I don't feel sick and I've been to my ENT, chiropractor, physical therapy, ortho, and they have no idea...bloodwork look ok....they don't think it's an issue with thyroid and it's not a hard lumpy nodule or anything so they said it's not lymph nodes but it's weird looking and worries my to death. I never had this before and it came on suddenly. Keep in touch & so will I if I find out anything. Getting more tests done on the 24th.
My CT scan came back clear, I still have the swelling. I also have arthritis in my neck and lumbar area. I have read is the lymphatic liquid that cannot drain properly. I am 55 recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's and EBV virus. My guess, this is result of the autoimmune issues.
I have not read all comments here yet but so far its been all women, no men. Could it meant that it may have something to do with hormons? I just discovered my two gelpacks today and going crazy trying to find some info.
I have the exact same problem with the swelling and I have been on a steroid inhaler for years. Does anyone have neck pain with this?
I'm 43 and have had regular periods till this past month when it came 10 days early, but I'm associating it with stress I was going through with my father's heart attack followed by his death. But maybe I'm starting to go into menopause. Just today I discovered two gel packs on each side.
Hello,
I just recently discovered I have the same issue but only on my right side. Feels like a gel pack underneath and docs don't know what to think. How's your situation improved since your posting?
