I have a gel like area on both sides of my neck. Dr did a cat scan and blood work found nothing. it sometimes aches down my arm now. Did you get any answers?
I have same swelling and Encronologist took ultrasound and said I have ballooning of the carotid artery... And basically I was told nothing could be done... I'm just an aneurysm waiting to happen... I'm freaked out...
That is a terrible thing to say.....if you even have an aneurysm

I am peri=menopause 53 and the same so lets break this up. do you drink coffee ? Do they go up and down? Do you have pain in shoulders or neck associated with ? I have heard rebounding helps...fun at this age.lol Are they clogged or ??

Look into Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. An extra cervicle rib, diagnosed by x-ray, can irritate the brachial plexus nerve complex along with major blood vessels that lie in the same area. It can cause swelling, pain radiating into neck and arm, headaches, etc. Further, blood clots and permanent nerve damage may occur if left untreated.
I went thru a bunch of these replies in this thread, and while some people have been diagnosed, or at least pointed in a certain direction, none of those match my situation. I'm a 55 year old female, in good health, I'm now taking BP and cholesterol meds, but these gel-like lumps formed over 17 years ago, pre-menopause. I've had my lymphs tested, my thyroid tested, I had a CAT scan, a MRI, and X-rays over the years. No doctor has ever given me anything other than a guess. A good, hard self-massage will lessen the size some, but only temporarily. I really am at my wits end, they aren't painful but they are unsightly, and in the back of my mind they do worry me slightly. It astounds me that there are 52 pages worth of people here and medical science has failed to come up with a reason for these.
I have the same kind of swelling and have been told it may be thoracic outlet syndrome.....not sure it fits my symptoms but thought I'd add to the list.
I tend to have poor posture because of my lap top situation, plus I've carried a very heavy over-the-shoulder purse most of my life, but that's it. I'm working on both.
