Thank you for posting this. I thought I was the only one who was having the same reactions to food - especially chocolate, tea, wine, sugar and any dairy products. I think that there probably won't be anything left to eat if I cut out this lot! Have you found a diet that helps you? My symptoms started nearly two years ago (completely out of the blue) and , like you, I have tried most things without success. GP, Dentist, Oral Surgeon, ENT Surgeon can't help. I have tried ALA, probiotic capsules, omeprazole and Loratadine - all to no avail. I have just ordered some B12 (although tests show that my levels are good) lozenges and patches as a last resort (Highly recommended from a previous post). I will let you know how I get on. If there is no change I may see if I can get tested for food allergies. I would be interested to know if you are experiencing any improvements. You have had this for a lot longer than me and I know how uncomfortable BMS is. I just hope that, one day, it disappears as quickly as it appeared. In the meantime I will follow these posts with interest and hope that someone comes up with a cure. Wishful thinking I know!
I forgot to mention that the only relief I get from BMS is to chew sugar free gum.
I noticed that many of us had general anaestetic recently. I had major surgery on my teeth a few weeks ago and then this started. Could anaestetic be a factor?
I had 10 stellate ganglion blocks. 5 on each side. I had them about 10 months ago. They helped quite bit for a while but the bms is back. Did you have the block with sedation? I did not have sedation and it was quite scary but am reconsidering doing them again because it was the only thing that worked. I would like to hear about how your procedure was done. thanks..
Please tell me what worked for you. I have BMS that started about two months ago . It is terribly painful. Thank you in advance.

I went to see my 11th dr about 4 weeks ago and he put me on diflucan for candida. ( yeast and fungus) It has helped about 95%. He feels that all the drs I have seen for the last 2 years have treated the symptoms not the cause. As of now I feel so much better. My tongue is not burning and is getting better. I don't know what you have tried yet but candida could be the cause. Good Luck!

I just started feeling this burning in the past month. It seems very few find any results from their doctors, that's amazing! If it doesn't go away, I'll definitely share your information with my doctor. Thank you.
Interesting you mention this, as when my mouth started to burn I also had a patch of hair turn orange and very brittle and fell out gradually. My hair is better but my mouth still burns. I attribute this to stress. Alot of my stress has moved out, but I wonder if I just have to live with this bms for the rest of my life.
yes, I can certainly relate. Ive been having my burning mouth sensations for about 1 year I think. I first thought it was because I didn't drink enough water, but I feel I do. And it still occurs. I notice its worsened after I eat fast food or something processed. I am 40 yrs old, of Mexican and American background, female, probably about 240 lbs. I also suffer from depression and I wonder if my medications have something to do with this? I am not sure. My dentist says its not anything she can help me with and Id have to see my regular primary physician.
I have been suffering for 2 years and I thought I was going crazy. Did you go to a gynocologist or an internist?
I have been wondering what this problem was? This is a perfect description . Could you post the website in an e-mail to me please?
Can you please share your " single solution" with me. I have been running from one doctor to another. Makes me super sad that my life has taken a bad turn. I hope I can get back to feeling well again. Thank you
