By that time we should know how to keep ourself's clean down there.
However, I didn't get rid of mine the same way you did, :S
In concern to your virginity though, the hymen does not represent your virginity. If you have not had sex, you're still a virgin; hymen or no hymen. So no, you didn't take your own virginity. you still had it intact. I know this is a late reply but I hope I helped somewhat!
If it goes in all the way you are no longer a virgin
Hi im 23 ive just joined this to reply to your post, i to have a seperate hymen and it was alot thicker than some examples id seen,i was scared to death, id seen so many posts online about people being in so much pain or having to have it cut! i was so worried, anyway it broke a few days ago, i thew myself on sofa to sit down (as you do after a long day at work) and had the slightest twinge, thought nothing of it (as i have a VERY low pain threshold) only to realise a few hours later it had broke, i had No bleeding, and id say No pain. couldnt belive it, i was so happy, so please dont read and worrie because for me it was completely pain free and no blood. there was half still attached but its gone small (apperently this is comman) and you wouldnt even no thats what it was unless you really looked. I tried a few times to stretch/ break it in the shower etc.. but found it was far to painfull. so please dont worrie cause it could happen any time and could be completey pain free. People generally write about bad expericence they feel they need to tell. but mine was fine. If i hadnt of noticed when i was in the shower i wouldnt have known at allPlease dont cut or worrieTake care :) xxx
I have a septate hymen, but I am too nervous to ask my mum if I could have the surgery to remove it.
Should I tell her? I am at that age where sex might bring itself up soon, so I don't want to break my hymen with a guy because I heard horror stories of septate hymens hurting like hell when they break.
Should I ask mum? Or can I see a GYN about it without needing her knowing?
