No the boric acid that I used and what is recommended is 100% pure pharmaceutical grade boric acid and filled gelatin capsules size 00 with it.. but I would.advise especially since it helped before is using for a fortnight giving it a break and trying again..and having regular swabs with your doctor to see if your making progress and very importantly replacing your good bacteria directly to the area.. diet wise I was very strict, no dairy, no yeast, no gluten, no wheat,no sugar.and plenty of protein, eggs, salad..etc
I did a sensitivity culture. From what I could understand from the doctor mine is sensitive to really high dose diflucan (which is weird because it also came back resistant to diflucan) and voriconazole. Doctor didn't really want to give me these due to the dosage needed to kill it. Do they usually include boric acid in the culture? The only thing with mine is that sometimes I feel so awful with throat issues and brain fog that I think it has to be other places in my body. were you taking anything orally while using the boric acid? I sometimes think if I did a combo of boric acid and an oral antifungal it might work. Problem is with no medicine I feel awful but I feel awful on the meds!
What side effects were there for you?
Were you able to determine whether you had the Candida other places in your body? If so, how?
Thanks again for the information and support!!!!
In saying all that a lot of experts believe to have an ongoing vaginal infection you must have a candida overgrowth in the gut which can be treated of course more naturally..with natural antifungals in your diet or supplements and of course a good probiotic..
Even with only having it in the vagina, I understand how awful you feel.. some of how sick I felt, I put down to all the antifungals that were tried with me and the rest was definitely the glabrata infection..when you think your immune system is under a lot of pressure because its trying to help you fight this infection over an extended period of time.. that is another thing id suggest to try boost your immune system in anyway you can..I missed five months of work over it at the height of it, my legs were weak, I felt weak, sick etc and then add in the worry of having this, trying to treat yourself, striving to get the right treatment..it all puts tremendous pressure on your body and mind.. xx
When your doctor said you were sensitive but only in high dose but you had been told that you were resistant...I would say to you that when they do a sensitivity test there are three results resistant... means no amount of the drug will work at any dose..
Then there is what they state as dose dependant which is in the middle...your halfway resistant and for the drug to work you would have to receive very high doses to try supress outright resistance... in my case even with super high dose by iv I still became resistant..
And then sensitive ... normal dosage should kill..
No boric acid isn't used in a sensitivity test..and the other thing is glabrata does not become resistant (.. D)
