Ok. Here is a piece of advice for everyone who flocks to these types of threads. While I myself will pour over these comments looking for women with similar experiences, I have learned to take things said on here with a grain of salt. I would hope the majority of you realize that the women commenting on these threads are not doctors. For example...the woman above who insists that if you are pregnant your breasts will be so sore that you cannot touch them as if this is a surefire sign of pregnancy. WRONG. I was pregnant with twins, which according to pregnancy articles would mean my symptoms would most likely be amplified. My breasts were hardly tender let alone intolerable to touch. Everyone's symptoms will be unique, sometimes even in subsequent pregnancies. Also...if you are only "keeping calm" after you ovulate to prevent a late period you're wasting your time. Your "period" will not be late due to stress. Your ovulation, however can be susceptible to the effects of stress. The luteal phase of the menstrual cycle is defined as the day after you ovulate til the day you start your period. This phase is typically the same amount of days every cycle give or take a day or two. (Although each woman's luteal phase length will be different. Some women have a 10 day luteal phase. Some women may have a 14 day luteal phase. A good luteal phase is typically between 10 and 14 days. Anything longer than 16 days COULD indicate pregnancy. The only way you will know yours is by tracking your fertility) Because this phase is constant, it is not what determines when you will have your period. The day you ovulate is what determines that. If you experienced a lot of stress at the beginning of your cycle, it could very well push off your ovulation date. If you usually ovulate on day 15 (because surprise surprise, not all women ovulate on day 14 like we were told in school) and your luteal phase is 14days, then your cycle would be 29 days. But lets say work was extremely stressful this month and you didn't ovulate until day 18. Your luteal phase will remain the same (give or take a day or two) and your cycle length will be 32 this month. I just wanted to clear that up....Sorry about the rant. Either way, know that I am also not a doctor. And although it is ok to come here for basic information, do not take anything on here as gospel truth. I guess what I'm saying is take control of your own body and fertility. Don't even take my word for it. I practice the Fertility Awareness Method or FAM (not even for religious reason but because I take a lot of pride in knowing what is going on with my own body at any given time during the month) and I also do a lot of research because I realize every woman is different and you have to go by what YOUR body is telling you. Not what some stranger went through once 3 years ago. I hope this has helped someone. My intention was not to offend anyone, but to encourage women to take control of their fertility.
Accourding to my fertility applications, I have past the ovulation period. It ended on the 27th. I am a week away from my estimated period, and I am having egg white cervical fluid now. Is this normal, or could my ovulation actually be going on now. I stopped taking birth control the end of January, and was told that it could be trying to regulate itself. I got anxious and took a test, produced a negative result because it was to early I'm guessing. I have been active almost everyday, and have been extremely tired this last week. With stomach aches, and back aches. Sore muscles, and keep waking in the middle of the night with pain or to use the restroom. I know it is probably to early for any signs but I'm a little confused if I am ovualting now?
