I had this problem about 7 years ago and my doctor put me on Effexor (an anti anxiety drug) and it went away. Recently it came back and I'm not taking that drug anymore but I do take welbutrin which is an anti-anxiety/anti-depressant. So I don't know if I just need to switch back or what. But it is very uncomfortable and it does seem to be harder to take breaths if you are thinking about it. In my case, it starts to make my stomach and chest hurt after a while. I am going to have a oxygen saturation test done before I do anything else.
WOW! I must of have read all the replys, its comforting to know that this is comoun and that im not alone, but its sooo sh$tty to feel this discomfort.... WHY? must be stress like everyone is saying it is .im feeling this right now . but i feel it much worse when im at work,, my boss is always up my rear..im 39 live in toronto area ,doc says i have irritable bowel syndrome pfffft!! i thought maybe cause i stopped smoking now for over 3 yrs.. or maybe its my relationship? never the less its all in the head. I have same problem as you . and My doctor said it was Acid Reflut ..I fell so bad with it I have it more than 1 year
Hi all.. Very interesting looking at all the comments, I have had panic attacks in the past resulting in many visits to A and E and in spite of a heart problem all tests come back negative. Now at 66 years old my breathing has become difficult started about 5 months ago and gradually getting worse,at night in bed was a nightmare as I couldnt control the breathing I would panic as I couldnt get that extra bit of breath or yawn which gives that satisfying feeling of breathing. I am taking mirtazipane at night which does knock me out ok and now I have found if I focus on anything but the breathing I really feel at ease, what has been happening is that once the urge to breath deeply or yawn happens can lead to almost hyperventalate, so the trick is to DONT THINK ABOUT BREATHING just keep calm and try to take deep breaths hold for a second or 2 then repeat, do not think about the next breath or your brain will react and tell you otherwise its a vicious circle and this is a symptom which can feed on itself if you allow it to, believe me its horrid I know and VERY VERY scary but you can overcome it, please email me if you wish, Im not out of the woods just yet but I am getting there and will give you any support you may need.
waste ass b***h
Dear KBB and ALL,
So many people are having the same exact problem like myself but how come doctors have nothing to say about this, not even an advise?? I even have doctor saying to me "ï also do know what is it".
So guys, whatever is it, hang in there, it may be take awhile, years but don't give up, someday, somehow, it will go away. I had this on 7 years ago and now it is back. It is good that it came back at least i can narrow down something in common then and now. It has something to do with obesity, well at least is is for me.
