2010, and have had these dull pains where they took it out. Had x-ray,
c-scan, and numerous blood testing....but nothing relieved the cause. Been
to surgeon, gastro , and primary, and they all believe that it is my
duct from my liver is enlarging and the flap to keep the bile in did not
enlarge with it. The pain happens all the time now, during the night,
after I eat, before I eat. I have had back surgery a few years ago, and
pain mgmt was part of the plan, so I have learned to deal with the pain.
But it is very uncomfortable at times and continues to feel like I have
broken ribs. I have been put on Hyoscyamine, a med for slowing down the
spasms in the lower internal organs.....doesn't work very well. I am
losing weight and changing diet to try to compensate. I have dropped all
products containing alcohol, soda, high fructose corn syrup, artificals, trying to slowly get back to natural foods. We will see if this helps. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I also have heard that some people get the procedure, feel better for a few years, but then hurt and have to get the procedure done again. I wouldn't be sure, but that doesn't sound like a happy life to me -- getting the same surgery every few years! Good luck!!
I had GB removal on 10/10/12, the first time i had an attack was 10/08/12, 2 days before my surgery i went into ER for pain that i thought might be gastoritis, the DR said my gallbladder was diseased and needed to be removed and to schedule an appt. before i got around to doing that i was back in ER 2 days later getting emergency surgery to have it removed. I woke up in the hospital nw/ severe right upper abdomen pain and they all said it was gas they made me walk and the pain got so unbearable i had to have 3 shots of diluated and i shot of valumn to calm me down and let me make it clear i barely can stand to take a tylenolfor pain and havent taken pain pills since i broke my leg, which i only took those for 7 days after the break , so i'm pretty capable of handling pain bbut this was freaky intense pain that shot up through my shoulder i stayed there 3days and on the third day i had enough i told them that maybe i had a blockage , they gave me an enma and milk of mag, I was desperate for relief,i did get some relief the following day when i went to the bathroom, although I still i had the pain in my right side but i told them i felt that i could go home. after test and blood work and being told they see nothing wrong i;d had enough. went home on fri. the 13th and was back in the dr. office on mon. the 16th, i can not sleep, because the pain in my right side is excructiatingif i lie back or on it, so i've been sleeping on the couchin a sitting up position,i haven't ate since the 9th out of fear today i had a couple bites of fish, not fried, and bread. my dr ordered a cat scan of my abdomen and more lab work today. i had hoped to find out what was wrong but the said evewrything looked good and he could see no cause for mt pain, i am disheartened, he ordered me more meds, which i don't want, and said we have to wait it out, on another website that the common side efeects after surgery are nausea, bloating, gas, diarrehea and upper right abdomen pain the mname for this is postcholecysectomy syndrome i guess i will suggest this to the dr tomorrow.

bile salts and liver flush guess i'll try these as opposed to being in pain or hooked on meds.
Hello everyone Im 20 years old I had my gallbladder removed 12/5/10 i was 18 years old. 4 months after having my daughter. I went into the er on thanksgiving and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with me i was having horrible pain in the middle of my stomach and it shot all the way to my back. i felt like i needed to throw up but i couldnt throw up and then i went back to the er 12/1/12 and said i had gallstones.they told me to make an appt to get my gallbladder removed so i mad an appt but then ended up in the er the next day for emergency surgery because my liver enzymes were high. But they didnt end up doin my "emergency" surgery till 12/5/10 so after surgery they told me they were going to do an endoscopy because they suspected i had stones in my liver duct so they did and i did have stones so after that surgery they told me they didnt feel comfortable discharging me until my liver enzymes went down so 5 days later i was discharged and i was fine and a year later i started getting pain again. they said it was acid reflux so i took meds and they sort of seemed to work my liver enzymes werent going down so they did a liver biopsy and they said my liver was inflammed but it was getting better and now its 2 years later almost since ive had my surgery and im having major pain again and they say my liver enzymes are high and they dont seem to know why. so now im just waiting for appt with my GI. My symptoms latelty have pain horrible pain where my scar is on the top and horrible pain on my right side by my rib cage, weakness, fatigue, loss of appetite and i get up at night because of the pain .. im doing blood work to try and figure out whats wrong but if anyone has any suggestions let me know i feel everyones pain.

I had my GB out in July 2011, in Sept 2011 I was taken to emergency with sever RUQ pain, diarrhea. It was thought to be either pancreatitis or blocked bile duct. Scans and ultrasounds came back negative, so I was sent home with prescription antacids. Pain relief was minor, somewhat noticeable, for a while. 6 weeks later I went to after hours clinic, same problem, severe pain and diarrhea in addition, added symptoms of weight gain, 12 pounds in less than a month, cramping after eating, extreme bloating, gas and undigested food in my stool.
Clinic doctor game me stronger Antacid 'script - Nexium 250 mg 4 times per day. By February 2012, my gut had ballooned out to twice it's size, diarrhea was constant and within 10-20 minutes of consuming ANY food, any amount. I became lactose intolerant, (I've never suffered with food allergies, least of all dairy), my finger nails peeled and broke off, I was losing hair by the handful every time I combed or brushed. Lots fell out when I shampooed and I left strands everywhere. I started taking Lacteeze pills so that I could tolerant dairy in my diet AND I switch to lactose free milk - not cheap - $8.00 per 4 litres vs. $5.00. I have a family to feed! I thought the lactose intolerance may have been an unrelated issue as I crave milk and consume large quantities regularly, 8-10 full glasses per day! Some days more! Seriously, I've done this for decades and without issue. I thought that finally it had taken its toll, that I had changed the flora in my gut as a result of overdoing it on the milk, perhaps diminishing my body's ability to produce the enzyme that processes lactose.
I went to my family doctor in March who sent me for tests. By mid May I had given up vials of blood, had two ultrasounds, xrays and an Upper GI exam - Mmmm, Barium for breakfast! All tests came back normal - a slightly fatty liver, conducive to a person of my age and weight - 49 years and 190lbs. Nothing to worry about, nothing abnormal found. That's the last I heard from him on the subject, other than I should use the Nexium when the pain is severe. Oh, and is not unheard of for someone to suddenly become lactose intolerant in middle age (?). He also suggested I stay with the Lacteze pills and lactose free milk, since that seems to work. Never discussed the diarrhea, or the bloating, or the pain, or the cramping after eating, gas or undigested food
I continued with the Nexium another month or so, gave up when the pain became chronic and I was afraid to eat. I began to explore other options. Two separate friends suggested I may be suffering from and HCl deficiency. This is the digestive acid naturally occurring in the stomach. They suggested that the months of relying on the Antacid may have altered my HCl production. They both recommended and HCl supplement. This is a natural remedy, found in health food stores in capsule form. I started taking them in September 2011, within a week, the symptoms began to diminish - a lot! I started out with small amounts of regular milk and cheese and to my surprise, without any pain or discomfort. I am now able to consume larger quantities of dairy on a daily basis and the other symptoms come and go (although not to the degree as before), depending on what I eat. Foods high in animal fat or greasy meals prompt the odd urgent bathroom trips, veggies seem to settle things. Chicken and fish work for me. Beef needs to be lean, pork is a no-go.
Until very recently I continued to be plagued with the chronic pain in my RUQ. I had been away, out of the country and as I am very peculiar about the milk I drink for 10 days the only dairy I had was a small amount in very few coffees I drank. I noticed that the pain has disappeared! It may be related to my milk consumption. Also the bloating is disappearing and the diarrhea is easing off.
I am not sure what the correlation is. Any ideas from anyone?
Don't do it. I have just had mine and and having enormous painful muscle spasms . I am a week out and completetly drugged up to deal with the pain!!
I had my gallbladder removed almost two years ago. 4 months ago, I experienced intense pain in my right upper side, with pain spreading into the front. It was very intense. Went to the gastro dr, and he ordered an MRI. Nothing came up. Yesterday, once again, I experienced the same horrible pain. It was so bad, I couldn't stand up. I have an appt with dr again, but am wondering what is causing this pain.
HAD MY GALLBLADDER OUT 49 YEARS AGO I EXPERIENCED DIAREAH( about 20 or more years)but everyone said it was because I didn't have a gallbladder so life went on and within the last5 or more years things got worse I kept doing colonoscopy and they told me I have colitis here take this med and it should get better not so I found this new doc who gave me a ct scan no one ever did that so far he says I have stretched out bile ducts and we are going to do a mri on my stomach which no one ever did I have terrible gas and odor and have to use the bathroom anywhere from 5 to 8 times a day and also a lot of accidents has anyone had this problem?
