Use of surgical clips in triple bypass can I have a cat scan
yes i totally agree with you..my father is a surgeon and i used to assist him in surgery as an rnfa....you are correct..i do have a clip in my neck however rt jaw surgery ..(obviously the dr doesnt remember)..and have had several surgeries..so who know which one..however i suspect it is from a nerve or blood vessel that needed clipped.however i do have some issues nerve type..and wonder if it could be causing..(most likely even in my situation..the nerve issue is from something else and i have no doubt the clip was totally necessary)...however it makes you wonder...i do agree however that people on here worrying about clips post surgery...unless it is around a nerve and causing real damage..clips are just as much a part of surgery as are sutures....or using betadine scrub..et..
I'm so sorry for all your pain, I recently had a chest x-ray and saw on the report under Hardware: Surgical clops are seen within the right axilla, well, that is news to me, nobody ever told me about these clips, I call the surgeon's office, and spoke to someone, and they tell me, like many of you, they are very common, well nobody ever told me I have clips in my body. I had breast cancer, had a mastectomy and feel worse now than I did shortly after surgery. I have scar tissue and soreness and tenderness on my chest and on my side and under my arm constantly. What can I do, it has been 1 year and 5 months since my surgery. I am scared and so sad, want them out, thinking my pain will be less if they are removed. Considering reconstruction, maybe the reconstruction doctor can remove them, tired of the hurt and pain continually. Please any advice or help is welcome. Thanks.
I feel like you, from clips, from a partial thyroidectomy. Did you get those horrible clips removed?
Titanium is usually not pure and people DO have hypersensitivity reactions to it. Even the FDA announced this year there are “gaps” in their knowledge of why susceptible people have an immunological response to metal left in them. In most cases a nickel allergy is at the base of these adverse health reactions.
Nickel is a metalloestrogen. One wonders why they’d use it in a person with breast cancer. 13-18% of women are allergic to nickel (in my case, titanium too). In 2021 the FDA sent out an announcement acknowledging there are “gaps” in their knowledge about why susceptible people have an immunological response to metal in their body. Don’t let the uninformed surgeons gaslight you. There are groups on FB where you can find more info, including surgeons who will remove clips.

Yes, yet many Dr's said they can't find any reason for my pain or nausea. I just found out today I have 3 clips, yet not one of these people whom I trusted told me they were leaving instruments inside me. I wouldn't have had surgery had I been told.
Yesterday, I talked the lawyer, but the lawyer said, this issue doesn’t in their scope of work. That mean is they cannot make a big money, so they don’t accept this case.
I really don't see the difference between the clips and a surgery that requires screws ,plates or pins in the bones.
