I also have had pain for 20 years- my xray showed surgical clips at gallbladder fossa -- and epidurial electrodes!! I complain had colonoscopes - no one can figure why i bloat on the right side when or drink and have pain where gallbladder used to be!!!
I am having the same problems. I feel your pain every day. Help.
Hi, I have just today found out that I have at least one clip inside me. The only surgery I had in my abdomen was an endoscopy for endometriosis about 33 years ago. I was not told that they would be leaving anything in there either. The reason I found out on CT scan was because of pain in lower back. Dr thinks its nerve pain and is investigating. The Radiologist asked me if I had had any surgery to my bladder, which I have not. But for some years I was getting cronic bladder infections, and after a camera was put inside my bladder there was an anomaly found which I declined to have "investigated". Basically the picture on the screen showed the inside of the bladder which looked normal, like the inside of a balloon, and suddenly the Doctor said "what the hell is that?!" and I looked at the camera and we can see it looks like someone poking their finger into the balloon, so I have this elongated finger shaped pushing from outside the bladder into the bladder wall. So I have to wonder whether this clip has calcification around it now and is pushing. I have felt something stabbing me from the inside from time to time. Coincidentally or maybe not so coincidentally I have been suffering with Hashimotos disease of the thyroid and am at last scan looking like it will have to be removed. Cant help but wonder why I have this thyroid disorder? Metal poisoning perhaps? Sheesh what the F#$K is wrong with these damn sorry ass excuses for professional people that we call doctors?
I get a small cramping pain daily in the area (pelvic after c section) kind of like something pulling and sticking in me I didn't know they had put a clip in so I thought there was something wrong for years. On occasion typically when slightly straining that area I get a sharp jabbing pain. They definitely do cause pain but I think for most it's not a worrisome amount of pain. Although, I have lupus with fibromyalgia (rare to be diagnosed with both as their symptoms are so similar and typical doctors 'settle' for one or the other landing a diagnosis of which fits all your symptoms best) and any type of slight pain near muscle or tendon (both of which are everywhere in your body) the pain is multiplied. My point.... if you have chronic muscular or tendon pain throughout your body, stiffness in the morning that lasts for hours, fatigue, even depression and/or anxiety I would talk to your doctor about fibromyalgia because for me treating my lupus and fibromyalgia made the pain from the clip fade away quite a bit.
Just an idea ☺
Good luck! Living with chronic pain is awful I know this is fact. I too avoid pain killers like the plague I hate that woozy drugged feeling but there are alternatives!

I had radical conduit robot surgery jan 2016 jan the pain around my stoma and very near my navel was so painful after seeing my G.P like a weekly basis she tried very hard with pain killers with very little relief I pursuid the surgeon who did the operation after CT scans and X-rays reviewing nothing I stil complained .to-day after 11months 2 clips were removed 1from my urostomy and 1 from my ureatha the the shock as sent me reeling as much as when they told me I had cancer.and I am 100 percent their is still 1left in my navel region. This is not over yet I shall pursue it as all this pain is a 9 . I am an 81 year old who was an extremely fit person now I am in to much pain to do most things
Can you tell me what kind of surgery you had originally?
I disagree with you, I have had a lumpectomy three years ago and only found out about these clips after my mammogram. I am now having pains and itching in the areas, I feel so helpless knowing that they probably would not do another surgery to remove these clips. Why aren't doctors telling their patients what's being put into their bodies? What's the secret except for unnecessary procedures and tests all because of money greed.
I also had surgery done in 2005 for my gallbladder and found out that I have a surgical clip inside me.
I recently found the doctor that did the surgery and I have an appointment with him to discuss this problem. I can relate with you about the pain. if possible contact a malpractice lawyer and talk too them about this and also try too find the doctor that did the surgery if he is still alive. hope this helps
I can relate

Totally Agree....RUBBISH....Way too many people were not told for a reason....titanium contains NICKEL...For years I was also brushed off and told there was nothing wrong. One of these so called "Safe Clips" came undone....it took 6 surgeries to correct all the damage. I also now have Pancreatitis which I will have the rest of my life! And I don't drink alcohol. I guarantee we will soon be seeing attorney commercials for class action suits.
There is also a blood test that can see if the nickel level is causing issues. All insurances pay for this test.... it's a MILSA blood test.
Sorry...MELISA blood test
I to just found out that I have multiple metal clips in my abdomen from 16 years ago for a breast reconstruction surgery. (Tram flap ) which they no longer do. I have been in pain every since and had 2 ct scans no one said a word about it till now I had an x-ray and it was mentioned in the report but doctor still didn't mention it to me .I have been complaining for years about this.
I had my gall bladder removed 13 years ago and recently experienced sever upper right abdominal pain. Scans revealed an obstruction in my bile duct and blood tests showed damage to part of my liver. I didn't not drink. Doctors feared cancer so they removed left part of my liver. It turned out that 12 medical clips were used for my gall bladder surgery 13 years ago instead of the standard two. I wasn't told back then. The 12 clips were th cause of the obstruction and resulting damage to my liver. Thankfully the liver regenerates so I slowly recovering.
I had an open appendectomy.. because the doctor on call chose not to come into the hospital until 24 hours after i was diagnosed by the attending ER physician as burst appendix. They did everything to cover it up including a vaginal ultrasound... which was nothing compared to a c-section... let alone now that I can't go through an airport without ringing the probes. I have no less than 8 clips.. that were only recorded as 1 on the the surgical report. Adhesions are now a part of my life... due to this ass that should have done a simple apodectomy... that has since been sued for blocking off the testical of a young man due to a botched hernia operation.. and is still practicing medicine!
Post thyroidectomy where the doctor informed me he only used dissolvable stiches turned very bad! He lied and used metal clamps internally. I am a RN and a doctor who doesn't inform the client the truth of the surgery or what was performed in the surgery is barking up a malpractice tree. I am unable to eat, drink, breath normally, I have adhesions and internal infection due to his poor work and poor decision to not inform me he was putting METAL in my throat! Talking is painful and I can go on and on. But what I want to get across to all on this post is if a doctor is neglecting the client of the procedures he used in surgery they can be sued! Do not let these Doctors get away with coning you that the clips are ok and they do not need to tell you they were uses in your operation and not removed. Take your health care into your own hands and consult with a malpractice attorney ! Also all doctors have to have a license to practice, so Call the Department Of Regulatory Agency (DORA) in your state and turn the surgeon into the board so they will not do this to another person. Everyone who stated that the doctor said what he did is ok is covering his or her ... hoping you do not know that as a patient you have rights and your rights are to know what the doctor has done to you and if there are complications the doctor needs to pay not you, and poor health do to a con job is wrong. You do have rights stand up for your rights!!!!!!!!!!
