Unless you are doing a rigid-scope cystoscopy, you are both ignorant and wrong. Doctors don't DO rigid scope cystos IN OFFICE. And that is NOT done under anesthesia. My God, ignorant beyond belief.

Patently untrue and ignorant. You are simply wrong.

Hi guys, it’s been 3 months now since I had a cystoscopy done to check for an Overactive bladder. I’ve been experiencing the following symptoms:

. Random sharp shooting pains in middle of shaft of my penis (at very same spot which was extremely tender and sore when cystoscope was pulled out)
• A noticeably weaker erection and weaker force of ejaculation with mild pain/soreness felt immediately after ejaculation at middle of shaft of penis (same spot as mentioned before).
. A Loss of sensation with sex and masturbation. It feels like nerve damage at the head of penis.

This has severely affected my mental health for the past 3 months. I’ve been getting depressed and I’ve seen two other urologists who all said ‘I need to let my penis heal and the sexual side effects are all in my head’ which is not true because I had no issue with this before.

Urologists need to be banned from doing a cystoscopy just as a safety check so they can make money from us. It should only be carried out if they identify something wrong from prior tests/scans.

Please Please Please if any of you have found a solution which works then I would greatly appreciate it if you could share. I can vouch for the fact that it’s not all in your head.

In 2012 working overseas I had MIR scan after leaking small amount of blood after urinating. Scan showed shadows in my bladder that were aggressive high grade TI tumors. Mid 2012 I flew home and had a bladder resection thru my urethra to remove three tumors then again following year to remove five new tumors. Urologist had to nick my urethra inside my penis to allow the robotic instruments access. Several urologists recommended I have my bladder removed, I refused and elected BCG post op treatment instead - requires a weekly insertion via urethra of tuberculosis bacillus with interferon directly into the bladder over 6wks. I had this treatment twice to prevent the cancer returning but it feels like having battery acid in your bladder. Following the BCG l had cystoscopy examination every 3 months for 3 yrs then every 6months for 4 yrs now once a year and I have stayed cancer free. A NZ company has produced an approved non invasive cancer test kit called CXBladder Monitor that identifies cancer proteins in urine samples. I never had any serious problems with all the invasive procedures including cystoscopy examinations apart from a bit of pain for a couple of days afterwards but I did worry about critical urethra sphincter muscles being permanently traumatized/damaged by constant examinations.
