You will never be awake for this procesure, don't know what they were talking about. You would be in excruciating pain during it. Just had mine done yesterday, no pain at all after and already back to daily activities.
Yep had one a year ago still dry

Hi. Did you ever get an answer about your issue? Having similar side effects after cystoscope. Also worried
Don
Don
I'm new here and it seems we are all looking for results
I recently had cystoscopy lithotripsy
after trying to pass a stone that was 9mm
Doctor said it wouldn't happen on it's own and my kidney could fail if stone doesn't pass
I broke down and went into surgery for them to blast the stone
I woke up after surgery thanking god it's over
I went home had alittle discomfort urinating and in couple days I felt better
I had to go in to urologist to remove stent left in my ureter 7 days after surgery
This would be fun they do it in his office while I'm awake just some anesthetic gel in my urethra pathway
Doctor places a tube the width of a cigarette maybe bigger and about 2 feet long
As he inserted the cystoscope into my penis (urethra) down into my bladder it felt very uncomfortable
Then the flushed water into the bladder so they can see the bladder better with the cystoscope
In conclusion the removed the stent successfully the second try
I felt the process of stent removal was very bad
In this case doctor located the stent had nurse turn something then he pulled like he was starting a lawnmower
I don't know if this was a normal removal or doctor had a bad day or something
This pull had not retrieved the stent so they had to go back in again
It was removed I felt like thanks a lot it's over now
Again I went home and had alittle discomfort while urinating only which got better within 2 to 3 days
On day 11 from stent removal
I woke up with a burning in my bladder
Day 12 called emergency number for doctor
Doctor had me in on day 13
For urinalysis for infection
Day 13 I could only urinate only alittle at a time maybe 1 oz if I was lucky
The feeling to urinate really bad had never left me it was bad
Day 14 says no infection showing
Maybe you have a fragment of the stone coming out
Catscan and sonogram that day
All negative so in the end
Doctor says everything looks fine
Urinary retention was causing the pain my bladder was full but couldn't really empty my bladder
Get off pain meds I was told from someone other than the doctor
Day 15 I call doctor and tell him something is wrong
He said ok we will have to scope you again
I was in so much pain in my urethra
I'm like really so I scheduled the appointment reluctantly knowing this is what hurt me in the first place
Day 17 I was finally able to urinate a long duration after something was happening while urinating
My urine was coming out like there was something in its way
Kind of like a slow sprinkler
Then stream got straight and I was going for a minute straight but a very slow flow
The only thing I did change was my liquid intake
I said if catscan shows no stone
I don't need to drink so much water
I probably drank 1 1/2 liters
Maybe this helped something I don't know but ever since that day I could get my bladder to empty
I cancelled my cystoscope and told doctor I felt better
Day 27
I still have a pain in my urethra when urinating and my left testicle has risen
When I urinate my bladder stops letting urine out then it will start again and I urinate again several times in one bathroom trip
If I touch the bottom of the urethra it kick starts my bladder to release the urine
My bladder muscles and opening muscles don't operate correctly anymore
Or I have strictures in my urethra
Something is wrong and pain has subsided a bit
My game plan stay away from the scope
I've order ezeee flow tea
Cranberry extract capsules
D-massose capsules
Aloe Vera juice
Hopefully I get my life back here
As for anyone getting this procedure done
They make it seem like no biggie
It's been a nightmare with only option to test further with that scope and possibly cause more problems than now if there is strictures (scarring)
My hope is this gets better anyone out there that can help give me some insight

My doctor wants me to have a cystoscopy done. Tis will be the third one he has done.
Now he is telling me that after the procedure I will have to wear a catheter for 2 days a week from now on. Why would the catheter be necessary 2 days a week for the rest of my life? I am considering not having the procedure done because i do not want to have to semi-permanently have to use the catheter.

Tell them to check your prostate for an infection, after going through that hell thats all they did to me and now I wish I hadn't done it.. my god it hurts
I've had this procedure 3 times in last 8 years and for last year's I've experienced ED with little erection. Can anyone with similar experience help me out? I've done 67 years now..
Please if you have Any help email me
My urologist did a retrograde procedure to inject die into my kidney to check for kidney issues. A cystoscope was used and it was done under anestheology in a hospital outpatient facility. When I got home that afternoon I peed a big clot of blood. Every time I peed after that there was a big clot. At 10PM that night I had a huge clot that I was unable to pass. I was in pain cause I could not pee. I called the emergency room who contacted my urologist. My urologist said "he did not do nothing". Wrong, wrong, he injured something inside of me, probably the urethra where it passes thru the prostrate. At 11PM that night I passed a clot the size of a golf ball. It hurt like hell when it passed. After that, the bleeding stopped and no further big clots were discharged. Since that procedure I have been passing red and even black coffee colored urine for over 4 months. It is being blamed on an infection (I went on cipro and it did not resolve the problem). Now my blood pressure medication is being blamed for my problem. Even reducing my blood pressure medication to 1/2 has not fixed the problem. As I write, I am awaiting new urine and blood testing. Has anyone out there suffered injury like me?
I had s cytoscopy done four days ago. Now I have exteme pain in testicles and groin. Severe groin swelling after trying sex. Erection won't last and ejaculate is impossible. Stay far away from this intrusive barbaric proceder. A simple urine test can diagnose cancer. O worry if my sex life will ever be the same again after reading all the negatives on this forum.
I can relate just had this done monday now thursday, feels like pissing razor blades and penis is sore to touch. Will never allow that procedure again. Wish i wod have never had this. Dr. Said only minimal pain no after effects boy was he wrong
You're ignorant, dangerously so. It takes a damn cystoscopy to help identify tumors.
