Yes it's normal for smoking to make your mono worse. I'm 20 and have smoked everyday for 4 years. Usually when I get sick smoking makes me forget I'm even sick. Mono is the first time where smoking has made me worse. At first I was smoking and I noticed everytime I smoked my glands got swollen and throat got kind of tight. I then decided to switch to edibles which made it worse because edibles have more of an effect for longer, so I had very bad abdominal pains that sent me to the ER, they couldn't find anything and thought I was crazy so they sent me home with pain medicine. So I've decided to leave the smoke alone completely until I'm better.
I take Motrin 800 and still smoke. The smoking does irritate my throat but I just take a 800 right after to calm it down a bit.
You have to eat edibles bro that way it takes you to a whole other high and you don't have to consume smoke , your getting swollen from the smoke agitating your swollen lymph nodes . Start baking bro

Is it ok to smoke cigarettes or dip while being diagnosed with mono? I was just diagnosed and wondering. I don't have an enlarged spleen if that's of any help.

I’m a senior in highschool and i just recently had Strep and Mono at the same time, it was tough. Bottom line is, smoking weed or hitting a pen isn’t the best answer. We all know that smoking makes your mouth dry and that’s the last thing you need while going through mono or strep. I guess you could say it affects everyone different but if your in the beginning stages of your strep or mono i would def hold off on the Gas. if you have trouble falling asleep then i recommend ZzzQuil.
