I mean it doesn't bother me a ton, but when your the only one at the water park that looks like you have something you shouldn't - and so many people stair it's unfrigin believable,an there not discrete about it either. What should I do ???????????
Does the hair grow back thicker ,Longer when you shave it ?? How long does it take for the red bumps go away? What are the Pro's and Con's about it ?? I guess I'm more worried about what other people would think because a lot of my friends have seen me with a hairy chest. Then one day they don't - how would that look? Yeah yeah yeah , if there really my friends they would be fine with it. What they say is not the problem but what they don't say is.. What are they thinking on the inside though. That go's for my Family to - And were I come from my family is very opinionated !!!!!!!! They put there 2 cents in even if you don't want them to .
I know I should do what makes me comfortable but it's what the other person thinks that makes me uncomfortable...
What a Screwed up world we live in or (Wacky) one if you prefer that over Screwed up.
If someone out their has gone through something similar let me know what you think or how you handled it.. Thanks
Hope this helps ;)
I have some chest hair that is splotchy, so off it goes. I've been shaving it for 25 years, so I don't think I even know anyone who thinks I have chest hair. Once I let it grow back in the winter and my wife suggested that I go back to shaving.
This is a generation thing, I am 40+ and I have had a hairy chest since the hairs started to grow when I was 15, then boys were so pleased that they were starting to have hairs on their chest and other parts of their bodies, especially on private parts and legs, I got hairy legs at age 14. But for men under 35, now a days they all want to shave off any hair that appears on their bodies, anywhere, perhaps with the exception of head, I think this is all to do with the fashon industry, all those ads for "new man" all those men have very smooth chests and legs etc. We over 40 men just scratch our heads, personally I am very pleased that I am hairy and have never shaved, waxed or trimmed any hair off myself ever, I do go to the hairdresser to get my head hair cut. There has been a slight trend recently for men not to shave their chests, that is good news, it must be such a drag and time consuming to shave your legs, arms, chest and shoulders, and I do not know a man with a hairy back can do that, he must get a friend to do itXD Be proud you young men that you are developing a hairy body, just let the hair grow out like I have and be hairy all over you body, be tidy by all means, like shaving neck and a neat head hair cut, but otherwise just leave the hair alone like I have.
So you thought that only gays and yanks shaved, well maybe, most 'normal' hetrosexal men do not shave their chest hair, there was a survey elsewhere on the Net that suggested that the majority of men who did shave their chest hair were under 30 years of age, not just gay but non gay too, most men over the age or 35 like me have never shaved or waxed their hairy chests ever.
Quite right just to leave them now, Just leave the hairs to grow out, you say after you shaved them, (I am sure you regretted doing that,) You know now not to do that, by the time you are 18 you will have a very hairy chest and by 25 just one mat of hair from one side of your chest to the other, something to look forward too.
This is a phase I went through as well, got really a hairy chest and at that age covered myself up. However, by the time I was 22 I got over that and just exposed my hairy chest, did not bother what people thought, don't worry what your friends say or don't say, probably they are a bit enveous on how hairy and manly your chest hair is. I went through something similar for a short time as well, but it does not last long. I have never shaved or waxed my very hair chest or shoulders ever, you be the same.
I have had hairy chest since I was 15, well then the hairs were tiny, they have gradually got longer, unlike my head hair which I get cut every two months or so, I have never cut or shaved my chest hair, as a result by the time I was 20 the hair got quite long and very bushy. I don't see the point of a man shaving the hair off of himself, it he wishes it is OK, there are no rules about that, my personal opinion is that it is a bit sissy to do that. I have also been told that the hair growing back can get a bit rough growing back, so I have never shaved or waxed my chest ever in my whole life, I am now over 55. The hair on my chest is nice and bushy, long, about 6", that is what happens if a guy who has never even trimmed any hair off in 40 years. The hair on my chest has NEVER irritated me ever, so why should I do anything about it. Perhaps it does irritate some men, in that case it might be better to get is waxed, not shaved, that's up to the individual himself to decide.
When I was 14 I noticed like you that hundreds of black hairs were all over my chest, I thought to myself, great, in a couple of years all those black dots and hairs will get longer and cover my chest all over. That is what did happen, by 18 or 19 I had a really hairy chest and shoulders as well, I am one of those guys who actually likes having a hairy chest and would never think of shaving the hairs ever off, so like you I also just leave them, I also have a light amount of hair on my back as well, its quite noticeable especially when the sun is shining.
Well that might be the case, many men under 30 have got into the habit of shaving their chests, over 35's don't go into that often, it all depends, personally and I am over 50, I have had a hairy chest, I won't use the word very as I am moderately hairy rather than heavily hairy, but even If I was heavily hairy I would never think of shaving or waxing it, I suppose that the reason is that I am over 35 and in the group of men who have never done that.
I started shaving my chest two years ago only in the summer months first when I'm at the beach with no shirt I don't look like a wet dog when I get out of the water. Also when I'm at work or out in the heat I feel cooler. For the guys who don't want the itching wash your chest well and rinse off well. Only use a specific razor for your chest. This will help avoid the redness and bumps that many of you have complained about. Also don't keep the razor for too long.
That is excellent advice 'b-dog', I suppose men under 35 will take your advice, the last 3 sentences are particularly useful, I was always told to renew razor blades frequently as I have a thick growth on my face, that is one place, the only place I shave.
