None of these will damage a males rectum. It is NORMAL for a doctor (male or female) to check the prostate with their finger.
Testing for colon cancer often involves a biopsy. While a small portion of tissue is removed it will heal.
Female doctors can exam a male patient. Some hospitals/clinics have a policy that requires an assistant of the same sex as the patient be present - this applies to male doctors doing gynecological exams too.

We just switched to a female doctor for both of us because our male doctor for the past 30 years was forced out of business by Obamacare as of Jan 1st 2014. She examined my prostate on our first meeting but she wasn't the first female to do it. My nurse practitioner at the VA was the first and it was delightful. Her finger was much smaller than my male doctor's finger and we both agreed smaller was better. When she went in she remarked "oh you have a nice little one" referring to my prostate. I replied "I was just thinking the same thing about your finger" and we both had a good laugh.
As a male I'm more comfortable with a female touching those parts than a male but I sort of grinned and bore it because he was my doctor and back then there were no female doctors in my area. I'm happier with a female doctor.
If you are asking because your bf or something is going to a female doctor and the sexual connotations bother you, I can assure you there no sexual connotations. After I met my new doctor my wife wanted me to be present when she went in a few weeks later. While waiting for the doctor to come in there were several others who came in to take BP measurements, height and weight and fill out computer information. Then this beautiful young blond girl came in, she was our doctor. It seems strange that when she was seeing me a few weeks earlier as my doctor, I didn't see a beautiful blond girl, so I think you can forget any sexual aspect.
