I gained 15 pounds after I lost my gallbladder. No matter what I do I can't keep the weight off. It's awful. I used to be thin and now I feel fat and bloated. I guess my gallbladder was working overtime!

I asked for my thyroid hormones to be checked cause I gained all the weight I lost before my gallbladder was removed. All she said was it was winter just walk. I walk about 6 miles a day including at work with lifting pulling and pushing. No change in my diet and I gain about 20lbs and can't seem to lose it. What now

My doctor called the pains phantom gallbladder pains and said some people will get them. I do sometimes. I recently started the keto diet. It's a diet rich in healthy fats and under 20carbs per day. At first I was a sceptic due to the fats, but I have lost 15lbs since May 17, 2016. I cheated three days ago which threw me out of ketosis but I am just now getting back into it. Try the diet. It's the best thing that had ever happened to me. If you need any advise on some great recipes or webpages, feel free to send me an email. I'm not an expert on this but from all the reading I've done, I've found some great tips and delicious foods to eat. I honestly cannot believe the foods I am eating and just dropping pounds. I feel like I should be gaining weight because I eat so much.

I have all these test just recently done. They said they don't see anything wrong. They make me feel stupid. Like I am making it all up. I am sad. I am at wits end with this and sick and tired of being sick.

I am having the same exact problem. I've always been able to maintain my weight, but since having my gallbladder removed this past January, I seemed to have gained 30 pounds. I am in menopause and have hypothyroid, but that is going back to normal. I do my best to keep a healthy diet and walk around the lake (about a mile and a half) every couple of days. It's going to be more difficult with winter coming. I also do yoga. I wasn't warned about this beforehand and I have never been this big, not even when I was pregnant (either time). Whenever I look in the mirror, I want to cry. I don't understand this and I don't like it.

I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago and my weight has increased steadily in those years after the surgery. I think there is a direct link for sure and basically you need to have a low fat diet, no dairy and be very active for life without it.... it sux!

I totally get it-I have been told to remove my gallblader-I am a vegeterian almost vegan - the problem was I was over-eating health foods and making my gallblader work harder with stones from over 20 years ago. I am feeling good and am considering not have the surgery. Everyone thinks i am crazy = my liver enxymes were up also. I will take bile salts, liver tonic anything it takes, I just lost 20 pounds and my blood pressure is fantastic now, I dont eat fatty or greasy foods obviously, thanks

I have an appt with a nutritionist - I hope they can help me - I am a vegeterian, almost vegan and my problem was over-eating the health foods. Eating gentle and often now lost 20 pounds. so I am not overweight for sure. I will take the bile salts at meals my issue is they dont tell you you cannot absorb fat-soluable vitamins and supplements.
