Yes you can break your hymen without having sex. Horse riding cycling motor bike riding gymnastics insertion of tap ons are just a few ways this could happen. The hymen is just a membrane that is usually broken by a penis But there are lots of other ways

Hey yes the hymen does grow back but something to remember is the hyman doesn’t look the way many people think. Lots of people think the hyman cover should the vaginal area but that’s not true if did then where would our periods go.
The hyman is a stretchy bit of woman around the vagina. It doesn’t necessarily break the first time but if you’re right or big it might. So yes in time you’re home and will heal and everything and go back to normal. You’ll feel like a virgin

Yeah but it doesn’t always heal it can but not always. Don’t beat yourself up because you lost your v card. THE whole concept is stupid men get hailed as king and girls get put down a s*** shamed. You not need a v card to be “pure” just be good off heart and true to yourself

Hi! I hope I can help out here. Actually, the myth that once a hymen is broken, and that it can only be broken through sexual intercourse, is a myth.

First of all, during intercourse while the hymen is intact, there is NO REASON that it should be torn! This would indicate that the woman (or non-binary) person with the hymen is either not sufficiently aroused, or that she is too tense to allow the hymen to become elastic.

There are cases where the hymen really does need to break; for example, if it isn't perforated--but this is the rare part. If a person going through puberty can't get the blood through the hymen, this is a medical issue and needs to be examined by a medical professional--it's supposed to have a perforation.

However, based on the estrogenization of the hymen, it can and will repair itself after a few months of not inserting anything into the vaginal canal (toys, intercourse, even tampons, etc can stretch the hymen). As the hymen is exposed to more estrogen, the edges scallop to allow it to stretch more easily--a pre-pubescent person's hymen is smooth-edged, while a post-puberty person's hymen is ridged and scalloped. Additionally, it naturally curls inward with the addition of estrogen, which makes it appear like it's gone. It's supposed to degrade over time!

Again, a hymen can tear from activities other than sex. Doing the splits too quickly, for example, or horseback riding, or jumping on a trampoline, or removing a tampon--all of these can cause the delicate covering to tear. HOWEVER, bleeding during sex isn't actually supposed to happen! Ensuring that the person with the vagina (I say person instead of woman in respect for transgender or non-binary folk) is relaxed, comfortable, lubricated and aroused is the best way to ensure that there is no pain or tearing.

I hope this helps!
