I have heard from a Gym trainer that the only way to stop it is lifting crazy heavy weight, squating too much weight too. The only way it would stop it from growing is if you injure the cartilage where you whip join is or knee or elbows.

Yes this guy is right !! Weight lifting doesnt stunt you growth, in some cases it can even stimulate growth.

If you still want to build muscle, but your scared that weight lifting will stunt your growth, do push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, anything that involves your body weight instead of dumbells, etc.

if your 14 15 it will be okay but stay away from heavy squats deadlifts and just any thing that you put over your head that will stunt your growth but really your height is mostly determine by genetics if both your parents are short most likely you will and always will be short as well so dont worry too much stay away from those exercises and if you do bench start light and slowly add weight till you can only do 3 reps

Yea, it just has to do with genetics. Because my dad is 6'2 and my Dad's brother is 6'2 and his other brother is 6'6 and 1 more brother that's 6'3 and on my moms side I have a uncle that's 6'2 and 2 Grandpa's (1 on my Dad's side and 1 on my moms side) 1 is 6'5 and the other 1 is 6'4 so my family history is well very tall and I am 5'7 and I am 13 in the 8th Grade. But I've been working out so much I bench 80 IBS and my arm has a high up hill slope and I don't think I've shrunk or stop growing because I started lifting when I was 11 and I was 5'2 back then. I'll probably have a big growth spurt this coming summer or it might happen during Christmas. But my full height might be 6'4 my dad said.

Yo man, i'm 13 and 5'7, 152 Lb. I started lifting since i was 12 and half and i've grown 4cm since then. I was also scared of weight lifting before i started but then i found it it's all just a myth. You can lift all you like, just take precautions and do it carefully. I'm a kickboxer and all my coaches say that weight lifting is okay at this point. I consider myself average height for my age and i'll hopefully grow a lot more since my dad's 6'2.
