I've gone to multiple doctors about this, and no one has a straight answer. One said that it may be myofascial pain in my jaw and that I should wear a Night Guard at night and do jaw exercises. One said I shouldn't eat/drink anything inflammatory, but I'm too much of a foodie for that.
I still haven't figured out the solution... if anyone can figure it out, please let me know!
Try this: Bake some thing in your oven with a lot of brewers yeast and youll have the same symptoms!
Treatment: This only gets worse with every exposure, a Desensitisation Treatment MAY work.
I know this is sad but it's still better than something like water allergy, take care.

For real, I’ve had his for a few years now and after heavily drinking at a wedding and having the “ear infection” symptoms, I Googled it and found this. This is about 12 hours after the pain started. So, my ear is already swollen and causing pressure. But, I bit into a lemon and this actually helped almost instantly. My jaw pain subsided and actually feels somewhat better. I’m still in pain from the swelling and fairly certain that doing this earlier would’ve taken care of the issue completely. Wow! Thanks Google and thank you all. Gonna keep an orange on hand from now on, better than a lemon!
I have had this since college and I am almost 50 years old. I have researched it on and off for years and never found a definite answer. It never happens when I am just drinking, but sometimes when I mix alcohol and food it triggers it. Not all the time, but that is the only time it happens. The pain is pretty severe and will almost bring tears to your eyes at times. I can fight it off for 30 minutes or so and it will go away. Well, It happened again tonight with less than 1/2 a beer with food so I decided to research it again and found this site. The pain was pretty bad, when I read the vitamin C thing. I don't have any energy-C or other vitamin c drink mixes, but I did have a bottle of vitamin c tablets. They aren't even chewable but I popped one in my mouth anyway and the pain literally stopped within 5 seconds! Not the best taste, but well worth it! The pain is gone, amazing. Something else I read here caught my attention too; dehydration. I am sure I am chronically dehydrated. I hate water and I have to force myself to drink fluids. I just rarely get thirsty and I know I am mildly dehydrated most of the time. Maybe that has something to do with it? Who knows, but that vitamin C trick works. Thank goodness!
That is me to a T. My body doesn't like me drinking any alcohol. I read a book ages ago by Dr. William Crook about too much candida in the body and its cure. I seem to have an allergy to molds and sulfites. My pain and vertigo will last for several days especially if I have had Red wine, and type of beer, aged cheese, mushrooms, bread and sugars such as grapes. It seems to be that the sugars feed the candida to a point that my body can't deal with the large amount of mucus that it has sent to work with the offending food/drink agents. Thus, I get pain in my ears and sinuses. It lasts for several days until the body can eliminate the toxins. Vitamin C works as a natural antibiotic. I take 1000 mg per hour to bowel tolerance. (I am doing this right now because I indulged during the football playoffs.) Ohhhh the regret.
