Alcohol causes me extreme pain....So deny all you want it is real and it is terrible
Interesting. In what way does it cause a flair up? I'm 38 and just found out by accident that I have it. I've never had any symptoms. Except for the fact that I've cut gluten out of my diet since I was 27 because I would get swollen eyes and stomach and such after drinking beer.
I agree with you
Hi, what alcohol do you drink usually. I don't drink usually but when I do I can feel that my joints are sore
I drink every day , except for water weight gain and occasional swelling in my feet, no problem. Helps with pain more than opiads.
Every time I drink and it always just one I get a flare. At first I thought it was the liquor so I started drinking a beer same affect. This sucks !!
I wouldnt recommend drinking from my experience... My physician recently diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease (although the "type" is still pending) as my ANA was Positive 1:160 speckled (so quite low). I have no other symptoms but extreme tiredness, brain fog, mental confusion, dizziness. My heart rate is also very up and down. Whenever I drink ANYTHING, e.g. one cider, half glass or wine, vodka ect the next day isn't worth living. Even if i drink this at 1pm. My nights sleep is VERY restless and i'm awake around 50% of the time. All my symptoms will be x100 the next day, plus the normal hangover feeling.
I have lupus I’m 26 and alcohol makes me really ill if I drink say 5 pints my flare up is really bad the next day last night I had two pints and I’ve had an upset tummy all day and pains in my chest and under my ribs I have had a bad head ache and dizzy spells all day this happens every time I drink alcohol I am definitely staying clear until I see my doc in March
Agreed. I just recently turned 3o and was diagnosed a couple years ago and I notice when I drink I get way more flare ups then normal when I don’t drink. I also agree that it is fact that not everyone experiences the same lupus symptoms or flare ups
I understand if you have a drink within (uncertain time) it may affect your GTT tests and I am asking if the same thing is possible for having lupus and affecting the ethanyl (blood alcohol) amount in your bloodstream? What about Lupus and the effects on blood alcohol levels? Do you have any info?
What about Lupus and the effects on blood alcohol levels? Do you have any info? I'm an attorney and a female client recently got a DUI. She swears she did not have had enough to drink to justify the resulting high blood alcohol level the machine said she had. She had two glasses of wine over a three hour period with a meal. Could her lupus have affected the higher than normal blood alcohol level than someone who was my height and weight who did not have lupus? She said she was having a lupus flare up at the time.
