Had the same problem for at least six months. It was getting bad; so bad I couldn't help but just rub it every time I could just because it was uncomfortable. It was very red and kept peeling. I wasn't sure what to do. I'm not the kind of person that uses medicines. My theory was with this problem was if I stop itching and rubbing it (even though its feels good), it'll eventually heal itself. It did. I took it easy cleaning down there as well. Just leave it alone and it should be alright.
I suffer from the same thing... however... I'm only 13. I was really worried because, one night after masturbating (yeah I'm not proud of it) I've gotten very itchy. It then felt dry and I thought the next day I would be fine. I wake up. It is red and scaly-looking and I was really scared. I took a shower and the water seemed to make it better, but, after a few minutes, it was peeling! I was so disgusted, worried, and embarrassed I went straight to my computer to look it up... and here I am... I don't want to tell ANYBODY. Any help on the matter? I can't purchase those things myself and I'd rather not... so... anyone? Help me?
Same user. I had used a different soap the night before so that may be the cause of this.....
What ever this is on my husbands scrotum , none of the doctors can diagnose him. He has suffered for 7 long years. Been to 3 dermatologists , could not help him either. He has a new doctor now , once again saying its yeast. He has used so much yeast medicine , it never works , does not cure him. He has used bars of soap with no perfume in it , doesn't work. Wears white under wear all the time , not one bit of difference. I wash his under wear separate , with detergent that has no perfumes in it. Still no difference. My husbands skin on his scrotum is thick scaly red , and terribly itchy. It peels off like lizard skin. This is so disturbing to the both of us. Defenitly to my husband , me I Worry because I can't help him. He has tried just about everything. He is now trying Cetafil a lotion with no perfumes. He said it makes the skin on his scrotum softer , but does not take away the relentless itching. He has used antibacterial soap for a while , no difference. He has used so many topical creams , none has worked. He has used Noxzema in which he said it did give him some relief of the itching. He now uses Balmex for babies butts , he comes home from work takes a shower and puts it on his scrotum real thick , he says it still itches but no where near as bad. A man has to do , what a man has to do. He said when you bath squirt some baby oil in the water it softenes the Rough skin on the scrotum. Use Cortisone cream does help temporary. You can coat your scrotum in Vaseline before going to bed does stop itching , so you can rest. Benadryl helps. Physoderm works pretty good. You can also use facewash . I used facial scrub on my husbands scrotum for a week and all the rough dry skin went away, then we tried not using it for the next week. Guess what that c**p came right back... So facial scrub it is Clearisil.....you could probably use any facial scr
For me, this only started to happen about a year ago, and it seems to be a combination of the humidity and moisture from the sweating. I live in HK now so the summer months can be very bad. I don't think it's jock itch or yeast since Lamisil and etc don't work at all. The initial itching is more (much!) embarrassing due to the area, and the first time peeling happened, I was really worried.
I am treating this now by taking a warm shower since hot water, I'm worried, might damage the thin skin using a product by DermaVeen, which is an Australian company. It has colloidal oatmeal and is ph balanced. I'm guessing that a colloidal oatmeal product by another company should work as well, but that's what's available here. After drying the area carefully, I then apply a colloidal oatmeal cream to it, which helps to get rid of the itching and re-moisturizes the skin. If the skin is red and moist due to scratching, I first use an antiseptic cream for a while to let the area heal a bit before applying the moisturizer. The antiseptic cream can hurt a bit if the skin is broken, but I think I'd rather hurt than have the area get infected. This goes on for a week or two until everything finally heals... Until the next summer at least. Underwear-wise, I now stick with loose boxers. Tight underwear does a great job at making the itching worse, I found.
God how could u even use a knife there.....
U should hav a lot of guts to do that
Guys,
This thread has been going on forever, because it's essentially a "silent illness". Who wants to talk about having gross flaky ball sack skin. I have researched this VERY carefully, as I too suffered from it. My investigations have shown this is a REACTION TO YEAST. A form of yeast intolerance. Men having trouble with this issue probably have some form of systemic Candidiasis which may people suffer with all their lives.
The condition is brought on from diet. You must STOP INTAKE OF MOST YEAST PRODUCTS. This mean NO BEER. Let me repeat, NO BEER dudes. You have developed a yeast intolerance to it - you can no longer drink beer. Also try to avoid cookies, and more importantly BREAD. Limit sugar intake. So, that's right, NO BEER, NO BREAD; and also avoid from any oral sex with your girl.
The condition will resolve itself, the old skin will flake and peel off once more, then the new skin will act fine. Try it and you will see for yourself.
Kind Regards,
M.W. - MD
Yes - this is definitely what it feels like. Good luck. I'm having success with zinc oxide and anti-itch cream. After a few days of zinc oxide only to heal the skin, go with a layer of anti-itch cream and then a layer of zinc oxide. The anti-itch cream is generic but contains active ingredient 1% menthol and 1% praxomine hydrochloride. The inactive ingredients are Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Carbomer, DMDM Hydantoin, Emulsifying Wax, Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, Triethanolamine, Water. This seems to be working but I've got a few more weeks to go before it completely heals I think. But it is healing the skin and stopping the itch. Apply morning and evening and as needed. Don't scratch!
You may have psoriasis.
I was diagnosed with it on my scrotum and just lately my penis.
I was finally able to sure the problem on the scrotum after 4 years.
I had to post to help you guys with this problem.
Desonide and Aquaphor. Put a light - very light - coating of Aquaphor on the affected area. Following that, use enough Desonide to completely cover the area as well. Rub all in and cover the area. With the above treatment I noticed improvement after the first week. At the end of two weeks my scrotum is completely healed. It's like I never had the problem. I never thought I would kick this problem.
I am currently using another medication called Protopic to treatment the dry patch on my penis. I am seeing immediate results.
i used axe shower gel recently and that is when my problem started, try using something different. never had this problem till i used axe!
