Hi. I hope your health has since improved. I was recently diagnosed with 4 different bacterial infections AND a fungal infection in my sinuses. E-coli, staph and strep, and another bacterial infection I cant remember, as well as Aspergillos fungal infection. After repeated trips to the doc who just kept fobbing me off, she finally realised something was very wrong after I had a severe 10 day
Long headache, and when i woke up cross eyed and had double vision. I was then admitted to hospital, where an MRI scan showed the blood/brain barrier was lighting up. They rushed me into surgery and ultimately saved my life. This illness left me with sixth cranial nerve palsy, which caused my crossed eye and double vision. A months worth of IV antibiotics, three courses of oral antibiotics, and a course of anti fungal medication, as well as a botox injection into my eye to help straighten it, and i am almost back to normal. My eye is still not quite as it should be, and still experience a bit of double vision. But at least I am alive

I have had awful sinus pressure and drainage for 6 months now. CT scan showed all sinuses inflamed, chronically and acutely. I had 3 surgeries in the past. Never had this kind of pressure and balance problems before, it feels like a neurological event (even slight tremor in the neck, because apparently my first vertebra are inflamed too). This time been on 3 round of antibiotics plus steroid, did nothing. They removed a maxillary cyst while I was awake, it helped a bit, but the pressure is behind the nose bridge and doesnt go away. Tried all natural therapies, only rinsing brings temporary relief. A culture came back with "rare gram positive cocci", now Im waiting for an antibiogramme, but I dont want to take antibiotics any more.

I started taking D-mannose orally, today will buy it in pure powder to rinse the sinuses. Coconut oil orally has helped, I even swabbed it into my nostrils yesterday (cant hurt right?) and this brought some relief. Maybe its fungus if coconut oil helps.

Will report back on effects of D-mannose + coconut oil therapy.

Dr also gave me a antibiotic/steroid mix to us in sinus rinse. Cured both staff and e-coli infection and just a miracle. The Rx came in a mix and just add a minute amount to the 8 oz rinse. Does not invade the body and a miracle cure for me.

Can I ask which antibiotic and steroid you’re on? My ent is having me crush Cipro tablets into a saline rinse for 60 days and I’m seeing very little improvement at the halfway mark. Thank you!

How would you know that?

Antibiotics did nothing for 3 years, but at last my surgeon proposed to test experimental treatment with gynecological gel with Clotrimasole from Indian Glenmark, which is like Ccanestene but in a jelly form, right after recent etmoidotomia. She put about 15ml into sinuses via holes she made during surgery, and after 3d time it is almost gone. It's a real magic, I can smell, and pain is away.
