Early period then positive pregnancy test?

Early period then positive pregnancy test? Just wondering if anyone has ever had this happen... we have been ttc and around 6dpo April 9th I had brown spotting for the day then got heavy for about 5 days Thought it was my period early. Never got my period when it was actually due on April 17th, been having some cramps moody and very tired bbs kill so tested yesterday April 23rd Faint positive pregnancy test and again this morning still positive, been about 2 weeks since I had the bleeding at 6dpo so I'm very confused on what's going on and should I count the bleeding at 6dpo as my period and go from there?? TIA
