I hope someone can help me out. I have just gone thru a bad bout with insomnia. I have been on quite a few medications thru the last 4 years. The insomnia came about just as I was comming down with some type of bacterial infection. The doctor put me on cipro. I have been on it for about 5 days now. Yesterday was very bad, evey time I walk i get these "shocking" feelings thru my head and body. I am also suffering from bad back problems and have been on everything from fentenyl, percocet, and I am comming off of a few weeks of methadone. I have been off the metadone for about 3- 4 weeks now, and the doctor has put me on Gabentin. I was to take it 3 times a day, but could not tolerate it ,so he told me just take it at night for now. I feel like i am going to crawl out of my skin on some days. This whole feeling of getting the "electric shock feeling" is very scary.I hope someone out there may have some type of an answer for what this might be. PLEASE HELP.

I was freaking out wondering why I was tingly and felt like I was being electrocuted constantly. I am on a high dosage of Sertraline and had missed 3 days worth of pills on accident. This post made me feel so much better after reading that it is a seritonin withdrawal.

I have been dealing with this feeling for almost nine years. You want to crawl out of your skin. At night when I try Togo to sleep is when it starts for me.You can't relax You have to constantly move. And for someone with back problems this is not easy. I found that tramadol works to stop the shocks but if you don't have any because your doctor won't let you have them until all the other test are done.it's a pain. I can't sleep for days forget about eating. My back kills me and on top of it all your body is going nuts with shocks. I never wanted pills I wanted it to be fix almost 9 years ago. I delt with it for 5 years before seeing a doctor and here take pills instead of finding the problem she said. Grrrrrr I just want to be normal again.
I'm reading this and saying yes exactly! Also my husband thinks I'm going crazy, said maybe I just need a psychiatrist :'-( just want it to stop. I also feel shocks inside my body, meaning not only my head, arms and legs, very scary

I take Zoloft. My prescription ran out and I have been without it for several days. I have had these shock type sensations since I stopped the Zoloft cold turkey instead of coming off of it gradually. I have had one or two previous episodes but they only lasted a day. This episode started Friday and today is Wednesday. Since this started I have not be able to eat, stomach pain, heavily fatigued, flushed, etc. it's very frustrating and scary. I have diabetes and was afraid it was neuropathy but this came on all of a sudden where as diabetic neuropathy progresses over time and usually doesn't affect the entire body. I am not having any pain other than the stomach pain.
I also take Zoloft and am hoping that it is just a withdrawal symptom and will subside once I restart the medication.
I think going to a cardiologist would be an avenue you might want to give some thought to. If nothing else than to rule it out. Also ask your Dr to test you for H-Pylori. It's a simple finger stick. Good luck to you, keep us posted
I like ZAP
I also have had these symptoms. I am on Cymbalta. I am also waiting for my refill. I get the zaps when I miss a dose. But the zaps get worse if it's been more than 2 days.
I take Cymbalta, and I have the same problem
I have been doing the exact same thing, like the exact same routine: working out a lot at night on the treadmill and I experience the exact same thing. It's so annoying.
I hope OK but sometime it get to people?
