I hope someone can help me out. I have just gone thru a bad bout with insomnia. I have been on quite a few medications thru the last 4 years. The insomnia came about just as I was comming down with some type of bacterial infection. The doctor put me on cipro. I have been on it for about 5 days now. Yesterday was very bad, evey time I walk i get these "shocking" feelings thru my head and body. I am also suffering from bad back problems and have been on everything from fentenyl, percocet, and I am comming off of a few weeks of methadone. I have been off the metadone for about 3- 4 weeks now, and the doctor has put me on Gabentin. I was to take it 3 times a day, but could not tolerate it ,so he told me just take it at night for now. I feel like i am going to crawl out of my skin on some days. This whole feeling of getting the "electric shock feeling" is very scary.I hope someone out there may have some type of an answer for what this might be. PLEASE HELP.

Also for the rookies..stress / anxiety /Panic Is not also caused by yourself...Just because a DR tells you that you are stressed that you automaticlly think of all the stress you go thru like a average person you think yours is now worse not because you were stressed but because a DR told you ...TAKE THAT CRAP OUT OF YOUR HEAD IT"S A LIE...Find what you took as MEDS! The only thing that can cause your NERVES to go WACK is something you seen, ate, Drugs, Meds everything else can be healed...people from WW1 - WW2 had way more stress than us and lived until 90..and were fine with bad memories...so Dr's can kiss that anxiety / depresion/ panic..up there ass!

I was told by my doctor that it is caused by the antidepressants and stress. Since the antidepressants increase sertonin and then the body gets stressed and creates sertonin its like an over load of seronin. In time it should lessen, but it was not a concern unless it really started to bother me then he would have to switch my meds.

I wish I had good news about this electrical feeling, but, all my doctors seem to dismiss the feeling. Mine started after repeated injury to my back while in the military. The only way I could explain the feeling is it feels like you touch a 9 volt transistor battery to your toung. The only difference is there is no metallic or acidic taste. I feel and hear the charge going through me and then the only way to get relief is to take meds and sit without movement for at least an hour or two. Thinking in an electrical seance, it is like there is a short where two or more nerve endings are touching or being squeezed together and then the sensation starts and will not stop for quite a while. I have been on methadone, flexoril, Vicodin and various other meds for pain management and ulcers since 2004 with no end in sight all the va will do is treat the symptoms for me. You see unlike civilian practice the va has restrictions on how they can treat patients. Because I smoke ciggirets the only thing they will do is fuze my back, even though I was told that I am a perfect candidate for artificial disc replacement. All because I smoke, even if I stop I have to go two years and a hair sample will be anyalized prior to approval. I hate to say this, but, that's what everyone has to look forward to with Obama care. (restrictions and health care rationing) When it finally starts all doctors will have to follow va regulations for healthcare and the va is not all that great they make more mistakes than are made in civilian practice.

Hello
This is really important you bear with reading this to get to the part about the tablets!
I have been putting posts on here about electrosensitivity as these type of painful shocks are occurring from the stray fields, "dirty electricity" which is high transients set on our electric supply, & microwave energy from mobile phones, WIFI which are known to cause these shocks and cited in the "IEEE Standard for Safety Levels in Respect to Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields 3kHZ -300 ghz" Page 30 it quotes "because of the invariable presence of Electrical hotspots in the irradiated body....." Page 23 "electro-stimulation of excitable cells" Page 24 "Low-frequency fields can cause potentially hazardous electrical currents to flow in capacitive objects such as......including the human body".
However, this said it may appear we are all right. I am told by a reliable Health Practitioner that these medications have aluminium in them. If you look on the internet you will find that a lot of tablets have this in the tablet's coating. What happens is the aluminium/heavy metal gets deposited in the brain and body and then the metal attracts the electricity (metal amplifies electromagnetic frequencies) which results in these shocks. So my advice would be to wean yourself slowly off the medication (it shouldn't be stopped abruptly). See a natural health practitioner, take a natural anti-depressant or other medication, also stop an anti-acids as these also have aluminium in them. A good measure is to start with drinking clay in your water - get a good quality one from France or Italy which gets the heavy metals out. You could also try something like Cilantro or Chlorella but I would say get some professional advice on this (not your regular Doctors as they only work for the pharmaceutical industry). Good Luck everyone! The Slug x
I have had chronic FMS & CFS since 1997 and it got worse before I felt any better. 13 years had passed before I felt any cahnge for the better. Anyway, more recently I also began to feel a regression in pain and electrical shock type sensations.Pretty much every where on my body and head. I also noticed when I place a leather jacket over my head it is nto as bad. More recently I noticed a strange person standing in front of my window pointing some thin at my apt that flashed a very bright light. My son was a witness to this. Not sure if there is a connection only since I noticed this strange behavior from other individuals I do not know? Next time you feel this strange shock like phenonemon please take a look out th ewindow and see if oy unoticed any strangers around your home. Just checkign out some thing. Thansk for your cooperation.
ive been getting these shocks thru out my entire body with extreme pain, shortness of breath and ect. las year i was hospitalized 8 times due to this. the first time my heart stopped due to this. to this day the most ive been told is possible heart attack mixed with stroke- none of the doctors so far have been able to tell me what is the actual problem or the cause. i do not nor have not taken any kind of meds. my entire body goes into a siezure type mode. please if anyone knows what this really is i need to know. since the hospital bills keep pilling up and nothing is being accomplished to fix this problem
I started having these sensations as a result of side effects specifically from my effexor. I had to taper off of it and wen through such withdrawl i didnt leave my bed for two days. I got rid of the effexor finally and tehy stopped but are back now. Along with chronic migraines and weight loss. Maybe we do have some crazy disease that wont be diagnosed until its too late. They are symptoms also of MS so if you arent getting answers talk to a doc. about having an MRI to rule that out. Best of luck!
I also have had this electrical shock feeling for years now. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about the same time these shocks started.I have had this for 14 years, and the shocks and the pain and depression from fibro make it wiorse.I am still trying to find the right drugs for the fibro and the depression. If some of the people here are experiencing pain and the doctor cannot explain it, it may be fibro.
so recently i have been having this feeling in my whole body... feet, legs, hands, arms, all the way up to my chin and once so bad it was in my face... it feels like pins and needles everywhere.... the neurologist i saw told me he thought it was from stress and anxiety as i just had a baby about 4 months ago but ive always had stress and anxiety and been able to deal with it fine... im supposed to get an EMG done in about a week and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what it could be or questions i can ask the neurologist im seeing for a second opinion because ive had it pretty bad for at least 2 months now and it makes it really hard to take care of the baby.... Help!!!
