I am glad to hear your procedure went well. Everyone else on here seems to have horror stories. I had the novasure done 9 days ago and I am having the same yellow discharge. I was told it would last 1 to 3 weeks. I personally know of one other person who had it done and she said her discharge only lasted around 3 weeks. I am hoping it is not longer than 3 weeks.

I had this procedure done 1 week ago today. Almost immediately i started with this heavy watery pink tinged discharge. It also smells vey badly where i constantly clean with baby wipes. It feels like im peeing myself. I pray to god it ends soon or its hysterectomy for me.

That's what happened with me. The Dr never mentioned an ongoing discharge. He said it would last about a week..until my post op apt with him. I had very minimal discharge immediately following the procedure. I am just getting started on my 1st period time since the surgery. I have a lot of watery discharge...and its very annoying. I am thankful to wear just the thin pads compared to the diapers I had to wear previously, but its bothersome. I wish he was upfront about it so I knew what to expect. I'm thinking I have an infection or something because of the color/texture. At times it's a bright yellow color. Did you experience this also?

I am having the yellow discharge....it's a bright yellow (at times...like mustard). Is that what you had? I'm wondering if I have an infection? Its real watery too....just has some tiny yellow clumps.

I agree. If this is all you read you will be terrified! :P I had Her Option cryoablation (freezing) on Sept 20, 2013, so 10 days ago. I am feeling so much better. There were two painful parts of the procedure...the first side being frozen (they freeze 7 minutes in 2 different positions at -90 degrees Celsius) and then for about 1 1/2 hours of horrible cramping afterwards when it was thawing out. I ran a hot bath and it helped within 15 minutes. Then no more pain. Only tenderness. I was tired for a few days. Tried to go to Target and got woozy 2 days after, but I attribute that to all the drugs they had me on coming out of my system. For the 10 days prior to the procedure I was on Progesterone to keep the lining thin. That sucked because I gained 6 lbs in 4 days. Thankfully, it was only water and has already dropped off. I am having watery discharge and breast soreness. Before this I had maybe 3-5 days a month that I didn't have at least some bleeding or spotting. I would much rather have this. There is a slight odor, but no too strong. Up until now it has been either clear and watery, slightly yellow, or pink. Today there was a little blood. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck everyone!!!

I had no cramping or pain at all. The doctor gave me a Rx for Percocet. I am only wearing a thin pad all day. Very light bleeding the first two days. The odor is very minimal. Has been a good experience so far. I have already gone through menopause.  I had this done because I kept getting uterine polyps. YES! You can grow polyps in your nether regions. Who would have thought. ( I can't keep a plant alive but can grow polyps!) LOL.  I had the hydrothermal procedure and it was done in the office under general anestetic.

I am going into my 4th week of discharge after the Novasure procedure.  After I received clearance at the 2 week mark I started using a menstral cup which I empty once at night before bed and change in the morning at shower time.  This eliminates the feeling of wetting myself and the smell.  When I empty and change the cup I have been noticing that the discharge is starting to decrease and lighten in color so I am hoping that it is starting to begin to go away.  The smell and discharge I am told from both my doctor and my Aunt who is an RN is from the fact that they burnt your urterus.  Burning and then healing flesh will smell foul.  I am due for my period on Monday or Tuesday of next week.  I am curious to see what happens since my periods were always regular and not that bad.  My ablation was performed due to a growing polyup population that caused an 8 week period with no signs of ending.  In turn this is better than bleeding like I was nicked in an artery for weeks on end.

I had mine done on 12/13. And i have definitely had the watery discharge, which at times is yellow or brown...I'm sure it's from the healing uterus but at times it feels like a regular period, when a whole bunch leaks out at one time and FREAKS me out. Im wearing thick liners and having to change it every couple hours when i go to the bathroom...Yeah, very embarassing.

Luckily the odor isnt very strong...I think only I can smell it but who knows...I'm back in the dating game after a divorce and this has put a small wrench in it for the time being...Sigh.

I havent had my post op followup so im calling tomorrow to plan that and see what he has to say...

I had the Novasure procedure on 12/30/13...the procedure itself went really well but when I woke up I had major cramps and the meds helped some, I am already on meds from 3 spinal surgeries so my regular medication I took as soon as I left the hospital helped more than whatever they had given me. The cramps were awful but when I came home I had fallen asleep for 5 hours and my husband woke me up because I hadn't eaten in over a day by that time and when I woke up I had absolutely no more cramps. The following day I had sporadic cramping made me cringe when they came but that was it for me. I didn't have any discharge for about 3-4 days then it started coming as I was told to wear a pad as I could have a discharge and when the discharge came it started out a little yellow in color and now is really watery and light pink. The smell isn't too bad but have to change my pad frequently. I woke up this morning though feeling as if I had wet myself and my pad was soaked. It is almost as if it comes out in small gushes of water. I have my post op in about 3 weeks as this is my one week since I had it done. I really have not had any "bad" affects from it. My dr did say I would have some discharge I thought would be more bloody than watery but can deal with watery as I was having my cycle 2-3 weeks out of every month. As I have read on here women still get their cycle, I pray I do not. What my dr told me is the ultimate goal is to scar the entire lining if part of your uterine wall does not scar you will have a light period because that part that may have healed will continue to shed month after month that is why a woman may still have it is what he told me. As for women asking about tampons or sex the reason not to use them as I have looked all over is because it can take up to two weeks for your cervix to close back up as that too was burned and if you have sex your partners semen and such will cause bacteria to enter and if your cervix is still open then the semen will also go up into your uterus and cause infection. Tampons do the same from absorption and being left in your vagina causing bacteria to grow (wet dark places) that could also go into your uterus. I have those soft cups that you can use in place of tampons that some have said they use to avoid the smell but I am just going to continue using pads. I can't use tampons so I am used to pads but for anyone looking to have the procedure done, I am glad I did even if it only lightens my period it is so much better than having it nearly all month every month. And the pain isn't bad afterwards but like I said I have meds for my spine so i may not have felt the cramping like others because of that. It was quick and a week later I really can't believe I even had surgery last week. I also feel better as a whole each day that passes as with an irregular cycle it can cause you to have affects emotionally, socially, and physically. I was feeling pretty bad about myself, sad, tired, angry and had no interest in sex and I love sex. But it messes with you as a woman and I can feel the difference with myself I definitely feel more and more happy, confident, and wish I didn't have to wait so long to have sex with my husband now. Feels good to feel myself again. That was worth having for sure. Hoping my period doesn't come :)

I am a 39 yr old woman who had an an endometrial ablation, a D&C  and a polup removed 12/15/13. It has been 6 weeks and i still have a watery yellow discharge. I am glad i don't have to wear heavy pads anymore but wearing panty liners for over 6 weeks staight is getting annoying. I was told no tampons or sex for 2 weeks, So I guess I am asking how long will I continue to drain and when is it ok to have sex again?

I had my procedure done in November and have the same experience. But would like to know if it has stopped for you. I need to feel positive instead of hopeless.

I had the Novasure Ablation done on 2/7 and have worn a pad ever since. I am really tired of whatever is going on down there. I'm hoping it ends soon and that I soon feel this all was worth it. Because right now, I'm wishing I never would have gone through with it!

I'm hoping someone can answer this question. I had the ablation (Novasure) five weeks ago and still have the clear/yellowish discharge, almost like mucus. Sick of the panty liners. I'm afraid to use tampons or have sex yet because I feel like I'm not healed? Also, still some mild cramping. Anyone know the answer to the tampon/sex question? Sick of this. I'm almost wishing I hadn't had this done.

No, I was told not to use tampons as this increases the risk of infection

I am 29 years old and due to heart complications that were due to my first pregnancy my hisband and I decided that we were perfectly fine with only our son, who just turned 3 years old on 4/13. I had the Novasure Endometrial Thermal Balloon Ablation, D&C, and Tubal Ligation on May 7, 2013. My initial surgery day, I was slightly nervous but more anxious. The surgery, according to my doctor, was a success. I woke up from my procedure and I was freezing. Not really any pain. On a scale of 1-10 I was about a 5. I slept for almost the entire day. On the day after I was up and moving around, not really amy pain, I did have slight discharge which was a very light pinkish in color and only when I wiped was I able to see it. I did wear a pad however I could have gone with just a panty liner. On day 3 same slight discharge, however I actually was able to power walk 2 miles. I normally walk/run twice a day at 4.1 to 6.0 mph and for about 35-45 minutes each session. So to not be able to workout was an issue for me. The day before surgery my weight was 170, 172 with clothes on. The day after I was 180, so imagine my shock! I was very disappointed. I know I'm filled with air and water from the IV, but gosh...give me a break. I can't even fit my clothes. I was able to put on my size 10 jeans today (May 11th), but of course because of the Swelly Belly, I had a slight muffin top....but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. I have not yet had to take the pain medication I was prescribed. I have had to take Tylenol Extra Strength for the trapped air traveling to my shoulders, but oddly enough I have been feeling slightly normal. I do go back to work tomorrow, and today I was able to get on my treadmill and do my usual workout for 39 minutes. I couldd have gone longer but decided against it. Just to be on the safe side. But afterwards I did notice my discharge was a little more but still only need a panty liner. After taking a shower its like I need nothing all day. Now, my period was due to start today and at about 3:30 today I went to pee and there was nothing on my pad but when I wiped it was a bright red. So after my second workout this afternoon. I will have an update. I still feel kind of normal. But hey this is still fresh. I will have to keep tabs on how things go for me. I have my follow up appointment with my doctor on May 14th, my 30th birthday. .lol Ok today May 12th, 5 days post op. I was still bloated this morning. Still at 179lbs. I know its all water and air, but I've been working so hard. Anyways, my flow was a little heavier than yesterday but still extremely light compared to what I am used to. But I am thinking this is my actual period. Its ironic that my Ablation was done right before my period was scheduled to start. I was able to do 2.5 miles this morning power walking only at 4.1mph. I do sit down much of my day at work amd I could really feel the air in my shouldrrs today. I'm guessing due to me sitting I was compressing the air. I was really kind of lying around all weekend. However, today when I got home I was able to tell my stomach had gone down. I did step on the scale and it said 176..so I'm glad to see this air and IV fluid going away. I was able to do my second workout for the day and get in another 2.5 miles..but still just power walking. I will wait until my doctor gives me the "All Clear" before I start my running again. Today is Tuesday May 13th, 6 days post op. I am still having the light spotting. Again this is the week my period was due, so I'm not too worried. I did check my weight again and I am now 174.8. I still am able to do two workouts per day. I'm pretty sure that's what is helping me to get this gas out and IV water. My belly has gone down a little more. It is a little hard right above my belly button, not quite sure why. I had horrible gas pains today. I had to break down and go get some gas meds and that really helped. I feel like its in my right leg at the bottom near my ankle too. I have my follow up appt tomorrow so I will be asking. Well its been one week since surgery and my follow up appointment went well. My doctor advised that the watery/bloody discharge (which is now very very light pink, not heavy at all) should last probably another week and slowly start being more watery due to the lining of my uterus needs to shed from the Ablation. She did say the slight spotting had nothing to do with my period supposing to start this week. I asked about pain in my right ankle and she scheduled me for an ultrasound of my leg next week. However, we all know I walk everyday and I've increased my time and distance to about 7 miles per day so I did a little research and I think the pain is simply from the exercising. Im going to buy compression socks and new walking shoes. That should help. I did check my weight again and I'm 172.7 lbs according to the scale. I still believe I have a little bloating though. But hey this has been what I expected so far.
