I have been suffering from the same sort of thing mine is only pain in my stomach but no nausea or vomiting it has been happening for a while and I've not really thought much of it only lasts about half an hour but is absolutely excruciating, curling me up in a ball to try and ease the pain but it didn't seem to help it decreases so I on-time to drink but after another 2 or three drinks it will come back no worse or no better but I am curious to find the cause

It's gastritis, from to much acid reflex. Prilosec is the best medicine to help get rid of it. Doctors perception is also very good. Prilosec is over the counter. I had the same thing happen and once I drink these pills and finish themy the way they are suppose to be taken the pain takes years before it comes back.

Look it up. Gastritis from alcohol and caffeine

I suffered from acid reflex from when I was a kid. These symptoms come and go with proper meds. Some of us naturally develope acid indigestion which is when drinking alcohol will catch up to you. It can also lead to ulcers.

I, too, have had this problem for last 10 yrs. I drink approximately twice a year and it doesn't happen every time. Does not seem to matter whether it is liquor, wine, or beer. Always happens even after 4 oz or less. Pain becomes excruciating - epigastric area - then I will have one episode of vomiting and then I am fine. I will leave a restaurant, go out side and throw up, and return to finish dinner. It is insane. I don't take any medications, don't have liver or pancreas problems, do not have GERD, ulcers, or gastritis - per EGD. It is absolutely baffling.

Yes, in my shoulders! About 15 minutes of pain and nausea then it is over just like that. Mixed drinks usually, I rarely drink.

Yes! I am having the exact same issue! The last two times I drank with friends, I had one Mike's Hard Mango wine cooler, and all of a sudden I had severe abdominal cramps that I could feel in my shoulders too. But not like gassy cramps, more like burning muscle cramps. Like when you exercise. It is seriously worrying me. I keep thinking I could have an ulcer or something!

He is right anybody who experience gas or bloat after consuming alcohol persistently should stop consuming it altogether in any form because this can get serious otherwise
If you are seriously in love with booze than after giving few weeks complete break you can enjoy it occasionally and in limit no binge drinking at all Forget it.

I am 27 and the first time I experienced this I was 22 or so. Dealt with it for about 6 months and then for others reason cut out almost all sugar from my diet. Couples weeks after that I noticed I could drink again and being in college I was back to going out 3 - 4 times a week and having 0 issues. Since then i have had these issues come back up and once I cut the sugar back out they go away. For me that means I stay away from drinking mixed drinks other than things like vodka soda lime. Hopefully this works for others.

I have been dealing with this stomach pain also. High in my abdomen, right under my sternum, almost in my back. Always right after a drink, but certainly not every time. Never beer, only after mixed drink or wine. I drink very occasionally, maybe one a week. I’ve found it’s worse if my stomach is empty. It does go away after about 20 minutes. If I don’t listen to my body and I drink more after the pain starts, I get miserable and then a bm might help. I’ve no idea what this is!! But I’ve been dealing with if for 20+ years.

I know this is an old post but I have been experiencing what seems like a similar kind of pain since I was about 12 years old, and am almost 25 now. It has been a really big medical issue in my life these past 18ish years. So far; no one has been able to figure out what it is which is super frustrating. It comes on with alcohol, but also will just happen randomly too (obviously I wasn’t drinking at the age of 12 lol). I guess alcohol is definitely something that exacerbates it but it is not the only time I get this pain. It’s upper abdomen, sternum area. Doesn’t radiate to my back or into my heart or whatever but is actually crippling it hurts so much... any answers yet? I can’t
