Mine has been with me on and off for years. In the last week it has increased. The area is from the middle to the right side under my rib cage. Any pressure on my right side causes a feeling of breathlessness. It's a very strange feeling and I get somewhat nauseous. I went and had a few x-rays yesterday and the med station doc didn't really have any idea what she was looking at other than the fact that I'm extremely constipated. I already knew that because of the heart meds they have had me on lately. I started Miralax last night and a probiotic to see if that may help with the pressure feeling. She did say that there was a shadow of some sort which she wasn't sure was my gallbladder or what. Kind of scared me a bit, but I had to consider the source. I also have a ton of heartburn all the time and can only take Zantac because of the heart meds. I have wondered if this is acid reflux or if I have a hiatal hernia, but do need to see my regular doctor. I just didn't have time at work today to call him. His office closes much earlier than I get out of work. I had a minute here to look on the net and found this site. I am going to go forward with trying to clear myself out and see if that makes any difference, but I doubt it will. I know the pain is from something - maybe gallstones, maybe something else. All I know is that I'm tired of not feeling well and want this taken care of but there is this little voice in my head that is telling me that this one is going to be much worse than the heart disease I have. All I know is that getting old sure sucks!!! If anyone finds anything, please post it so maybe I can have a minute of not being worried and I will post if I find out anything. Thank you all for just being there!

I also have a hietal hernia and several on here said that they do as well. Mine is gone again for now. I believe surely if we had something really bad, we would have more symptoms after so long a time. Please post after you see your doctor.. I have had x-ray techs scare me and they aren't suppose to say anything. My gallstones were in a huge ball in one spot so the tech thought it was a mass. My dr. was really mad when I went back to him crying. lol..it was only gallstones. I hope yours turns out okay and that all of us are. I'll watch for notification when you post. THANKS!

Not sure if you were kidding but it wasn't funny. If you knew anything about medicine, you would know that tests need to be run to diagnose a condition. No, not all of you should be doctors & to be honest, I thank God you aren't.

I have endometriosis but only used to get this pain under my rids when I had sat not straight for a while but been getting this pain more recently now tbh and becoming very uncomfortable.. I don't recon it's due to endometriosis as had for 4 years and only just getting this recently very worrying..

Hi, I have this too very badly a and it catches my breath. Sometimes only when I yawn or bend over, etc. and this small pipe type thing protrudes and I have to either lay down or stretch until it goes back in. In reading your message I too have heartburn and only Zantac works for me and also I have gallstones. My ultrasound showed nothing and it is a mysterious situation to my doctor. The next step is an MRI he says. I think it is the gallstones. Cheers, Jimmy

I've been having the same issues for a few years but on my left side. Feels like something pops under my ribs when I lean over and it pops back out when I stand up. I work for a surgeon and he seems to think it is a spegalian hernia. He ordered an ultrasound on me but they couldn't see anything because it wasn't "popped" out at the time. He still seems to think it is a spegalian hernia just by my symptoms and said I could have surgery to fix it which I definitely will if it gets any worse. In the meantime I've been researching what it is since I've never heard of it. Most of the information on the internet show that kind of hernia normally occurs lower than where my pain is but it can occur at any point along the abdominal muscle which in my case would be at the top up under the rib. It also says it is difficult to diagnose. Just thought I would share my findings thus far. It's something to look into.

Hi I'm just curious to follow up. I have the same symptoms and the same height and weight you are. I've had 2 csections but I am curious about the feeling of a cramp popping out from under my rib cage so sounds similar.

I found this thread and when I realized I wasn't alone by far, that scared me.
Been doing a lot of research and I think I may have found the answer for some of us.
Pancreatitis.... check it out for yourself.
I hope it helps someone else

I get this every so often then disappears for weeks-months.

Initially it started a fluttering sensation in the area that would come and go over 8 months

Often discomfort is felt more in the morning then nothing later in the day.

Last week there was pain made worse by movemnt in the area that lasted for an hour or so then as quickly as it came it  went.

Anyone have similar symtoms to these?

Wow I just recently am experiencing the same thing. I see my doc in 3 days. Isn't soon enough!! Tightening of chest along with shortness of breath though... I was at e.r other day.. Hearts good. Lungs good.. But low low potassium I found out.. So I'm very interested in my follow up. I need answers. WE JUST ALL NEED ANSWERS RIGHT?! So stressful. Well not sure but maybe low potassium and high blood pressure has something to do with it. We'll see

This problem can healed by cupping process because sometime our rib pushed in ...to pull the rib out cupping process is needed ... I think this is how to treat itt
