I just stumbled on this site and reading all the posts. I too have this strange rubbing/catching feeling on my right side that comes and goes different times of the day. I do have a fatty liver and wondered if that might be the problem. Please let us hear what your doc has to say. I agree with many, docs don't know everything! Good luck!

I just found this site and so good to hear others have similar issues with this "catch" type discomfort on right side. I, too, have a fatty liver and am overweight, so am thinking it is my liver. I am 74 and used to be active, but now sedentery which is not helping. Doc says Im "deconditioned"--indeed! I'm thinking if I can "de-fat" my liver the feeling might go away? Or not!

I have this feeling of something "catching" and dull soreness on right side of body, feels like lower rib rubbing something.  It comes just about anytime I move or twist my body.  I'm over 70, not very active the past several years, overweight and have a fatty liver. I'm thinking that's the issue. I've read posts from over a year ago and looks like several have this issue. Wonder if any have new insights?

Howdy folks. I also had a similar pain underneath my right rib and I could feel it most when I would bend over. I also had intense back pain and this has lasted for many years. I just thought it was bad posture and sleeping on sofa ever now and then. Just recently I decided to go on a diet and I read something about doing a cleanse with pure lemon juice, so I decided to try it. I went to the grocer y and bought a large bottle of pure organic lemon juice. Not lemonade or lemon juice concentrate , but pure organic lemon juice. I got home and drank almost half the bottle despite the bitter and sourness . I could feel it working through my system and felt like I was on my way to a good cleanse. I stopped eating sweets and cheese and stuck to salads and Subway for a couple of weeks. I bought another bottle of this lemon juice and drank it again. At one point after drinking a good bit of it I felt a queasy feeling on my right side and almost felt nauseated . I could also feel the juice going tough my system and it actually made a funny sound. I didn't think much of it until I noticed my back pain had disappeared. It was gone. I could move around freely and didn't have to worry about triggering a spasm getting in my Jeep. I also felt invigorated and was able to move much more freely. I did some research on the internet and actually looked into Gallstones and different home remedies for cleansing them from your body and come to find , many of them called for pure lemon juice. I cannot tell you how much better I feel. I do not discount a doctors visit but I do recommend trying a lemon juice cleanse to clean out your gallbladder and perhaps rid yourself of gallstones. It surely cannot hurt.

Well, nothing new here. I too have been having these symptoms for the past 4 months or so. It started out as just a slightly annoying ace in the very spot everyone else has described. Eventually it progressed to a slight aching numbness whenever I would bend forward. You know the feeling that you got if you've ever placed a 9v on you tongue? Well, that's about what it feels like now, but worse, and its starting to spread slightly. Went to the ER, they did an ultrasound but found nothing. I'm looking forward to see if anyone here can find any answers.

Omg I felt like I was reading my journal!!! This is my third week on Prilosec 400mg. I understand you feel better the pain isn't as frequent if at all and my dr said it's a food allergy although my lymphocytes and isophils are sky high like above the "high" range. Off the charts and I'm told to just switch to vegan. Something more is wrong.

i have the exact same symptoms as many of you. It's been happening now for years, If i bend over forward, and stay down for more than a couple seconds, something under my right rib "catches" and it sends me into a 10 out of 10 gasping pain!!! i have to stand up, and sort of bend myself backwards, and stretch myself back out, to make the pain stop. I usually feel nauseous for a couple hours afterwards, and the pain quickly changes in to a dull semi-burning ache. I had my gallbladder and appendix removed about 30 years ago. i had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy done about a year ago with a small hiatal hernia showing up, but the doctor wasn't that impressed by it, and he gave me rx antacids. I also burp a lot, which is bothersome, not sure if anyone else also has this issue. I feel like something inside of me is turning inside out, causing the horrific pain, and when i stand up it feels like it turns itself back the correct way. Just crazy that it has been going on for years with no real answers.

I'm experiencing some of these symptoms.. Whenever I make certain movements, the side of my body starts to crack, as if my bones are moving inside of me. This is a very severe pain that only goes away once I adjust my position. It has been a constant problem throughout the past 3 days. The pain is mostly on my right back side, going up and down my back. It is a very weird feeling that I have never had before. Feels like my bone is becoming misplaced, until I adjust my body, in order to move it back into place.
