Hi, i used to have exactly the same sensation around my heart area. I thought i might have a problem with my heart or something i had ECGs and other tests but there was nothing wrong with me. So i came to the conclusion that it must be due to anxiety. So i looked further into anxiety and found that what might be causing this sensation all the time was the fear of it coming, e.g "the fear of fear." Once i completely accepted that it was just anxiety and it was my head that was bringing on this sensation it completely went away there and then for atleast 6 months. However, it has come back over the last few days but i have found that because i know that its just down to a bit of under-lying anxiety i can control it and hopefully it will go away soon. Hope this has helped someone because i know its right nuisance! x
Well, the only information worth taking from the hundreds of inputs on this topic is to not go to the doctor at all!
All the money I'll be saving by not doing so makes me feel better already.

I am a 44 year old male and have had this fluttering in my chest for a very long time. four months ago it became more agressive throughout the day so i saw my doctor and he sen me for some tests EKG, ECHOCARDIAGRAM, and a 24 hour moniter. everything came back ok. last friday my wife and i were walking in sams shopping and I had this fluttering in my chest and became very dizzy almost blacking out and felt like someone was squeezing my entire body. I became very weak and started sweating heavily.i spent 2 days in the hospital having a cat scan of my brain, chest xrays, all kinds of bloodwork, arteries in my neck scanned, thiroid checked and a nuclear stress test and nothing was found. this is driving me crazy I need to know what is causing this and get it fixed. my colesteral and trigliserides were a little high and i have high blood pressure but my entire stay in the hospital it was nearly perfect.I am currently wearing a 30 day moniter in hopes of finding what this is .
I get the same sensations and had the same series of tests and nothing.....so strange....good luck
Does anyone have all of the same fluttering symptoms as well as tension in the left arm?
