Food goes very slowly down esophagus and it kind of hurts

Question

=( Well, whenever I eat ANYTHING it goes down my esophagus really slow, and I can feel it go all the way down. It feels like when you eat bread or pretzels without water, except it's all foods that make me feel like this. It doesn't exactly hurt, it is just uncomfortable. With liquids, it is not nearly as bad, but I notice a difference. This has been going on for a month or two, maybe more. My Aunt had something like this and after ten years, nothing could go down and it just came right back up. She is better now after she got surgery, but I'm worried (Since I have similar symptoms) that I have the same thing as her. Oh and also, my throat doesn't hurt at all or feel weird or anything. I only say this because someone mentioned it could be strep throat, but it definitely is not that; I know what strep feels like. Please help me, I don't know what this is!

Yes it's embarrassing because while food is stuck you can't really talk. So it is better to act like you have to do something quickly, go toss your cookies, then return like nothing happened. Although, some co-workers of mine caught on, and knew what was going on and we're constantly worried. The ladies were, men don't notice or care. Throwing up isn't always a quiet activity.

I too am having a difficult time drinking and eating food! Sometimes the smallest of food gets stuck in my twisted esophagus and it cuts off my wind pipe and drinking water makes come right back up. And then I put my hand all the way to throw up a small piece of lettuce and that wouldn't go down my throat. I am coughing a lot and have a sore throat and I drinks lots of water because if I don't my throat feels dry. I can't have surgery now because Ive had four heart attacks within a year. And I have two stints! Please advise. I definitely have a sore throat.

i was just wondering if Esophageal Stricture is symptom of GERD as well?

Can u share who your doctor was for my mother is going thru this and has been on liquid diet for several months...and getting weaker
