Dropped from 212 to 140 lbs. At first I didn't mind...but was getting too many comments about being anorexic. Tried hard to regain an appetite, working out, walking daily, hiking weekly, active. Put back 20 lbs. to 160...I am 6'2" tall, 50 year old male.

For the last 6 months no appetite at all, extremely tired, and now losing weight again. Maybe eat once a day. Daily caloric intake now down to well below 1,000 calories...

Stomach pain regularly, I would say queasy not nausiness....

not lasting at work for more than 5-6 hours, straight home to lay down...until following day...

This takes me back to a time where I ate at work because it was the day before Thanksgiving and when I got home, I ate even though I wasn't hungry. I think I shouldn't have had the Chinese food that night. After I started to have pains in my abdominal area, it turned out that I had huge infection around my appendix and I had to spend 12 days in the hospital. I don't know what caused that but it started in my chest and went down to my appendix. I almost died that holiday season.

Hi guys, I'm 15 years old and I've been having similar problems. I looked this up because my mom keeps saying I don't need to go to the hospital that she was like this to when she was younger. And I know for a fact she wasn't. I've been having these problems since the middle of May. I was 122.7 pounds, I weighed myself in June and I weighed 109 pounds. I'm loosing tremendous weight. I'm already skinny. My hipbones show, I have to wear a belt with my pants. I was never like this. I eat once a day, I usually get hungry around 8:30-9pm so I'd warm up a plate of food from dinner thinking I could eat it all but I ate 1-2 bites and I couldn't eat anymore. I feel like I'm dying...I'm so use to eating once a day that when I get hungry I know to get a little snack. That's sad...I feel bad for everyone who has to go through this. I've also been getting really depressed at night..I'm not sure if that has to do anything with my not eating..I can't keep going on like this. I love food and now I hate going to the grocery store because just looking at the food disgust me anymore. My mom always said I need to eat more but she doesn't understand what I'm going through. My dad thinks I'm fine, that I'm just going through a phase in my teen life. None of my friends are like this. I tend to get really dizzy and I have low blood sugar, and when I don't eat anything with salt or sugar I pass out. I've done it a couple times outside infront of my friends and they didnt know what to do. I'm scared to death to start school this year, it would be embarrassing to pass out in High School. I'm scared to go outside now. I stay in my house and my boyfriend keeps an eye on me and he asks me daily if I'm alright and if he wants to take me to the doctors and/or hospital. I always say no because I'm hoping I'll get better soon, but its been 3 months and my appetite has gotten worse. Can someone please give me an answer for this?

I realize I'm a few years late to this post, but did you ever find an answer? Because I have been having the exact same problems for a week and a half now. I went out to lunch and ate a garden veggie tortilla with ham & turkey in it and that night I felt sick, but never threw up. Since then I haven't been able to really eat, except bland stuff like soup, tea, bread an crackers. I tried real food but it upset my stomach and I was full after only a few bites. My doctor told me to take Prilosc as well and I too don't feel like it'll help /:
Please tell me you have found an answer!?

I had h.pylori disease for five years before treatment, symptoms are exactly as above, except when it gets mega bad, you WILL be sick after eating most things. I ended up hospitalised extremely ill. Resulting after recovery effects are IBS, excess acid, slow digestion and no closing stomach sphincter. Also I now cannot absorb vitamins properly due to damaged intestines. Get yourselves tested for h.pylori asap!

I have the same problem. I'm a 24 year old guy and I weigh 125 on a good day. I eat a few bites and I'm stuffed. My stomach wants the food but my mouth won't let me eat anymore or else I'll start gagging. I went to a specialist and he ordered me pills for a stomach that empties slowly. Didn't work I just wasted a couple thousand dollars for doctors. What does help though is marijuana. Indica preferably. I'd smoke 2 or 3 hits in the morning and I would have an amazing high appetite for about 6 hours. Then I just take a few more hits and I can eat all I want. After I tried smoking weed I stopped for a day and I couldn't eat even 1/4 the amount of food that I could when I smoked (medicated). So for now Indica marijuana is the only thing that helps me eat a normal amount. Hope this helps.

I read what the medical student wrote and have the same problems, then what is your diagnostic? I do sport and have pain on left side and my stomach is bloated.

I was recently tested for chrone's disease which sounds like your symptoms are alot like mine. Im having a endoscopy and colonoscopy on saturday the Dec 14th will let you know what they tell me. Please use more natural forms of treatment, I was given Nexium 8 years ago and have now developed polyps as a side affect, which I was not told in the beginning.

its making my stomach worse than ever, i havent been able to eat, i have to force food down my stomach all the time cause i cant eat during the day, it makes my bloodsugar really low and causing me to faint have the time. i dont what is causing this but it hurts and i am always cramping on my lower abdomen, i have been throwing up constenly everyday.

I too feel so full in my stomach yet I have had my gallbladder taken out just 2 weeks ago. Still nauseous and sick to stomach, bloat with only 3-5 bites then I'm done eating. Zofran is my buddy right now and Bentyl. But still real sick. My doc advised me to go see a GI specialist now. Its not my gallbladder cause its gone along with 18 stones. :(

I had a stomach virus (possibly two back to back) early this year and had months of similar symptoms- felt full and bloated easily, often queasy, felt weird/extreme discomfort after meals and lost a TON of weight that was hard to out back on. I would also get pain under my upper ribcage (both sides) and my stomach made an incredible amount of noise. I would feel better than worse out of nowhere. Doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I finally got an endoscopy and they found some mild gastritis (this was after being on Zantac for quite some time- Nexium gave me diarrhea- so I presume it was way worse previously). A lot of what you guys say sounds an awful lot like gastritis. Weird, non-descript GI symptoms that come and go and just put you in bad discomfort. Eating blander foods and avoiding caffeine and alcohol along with 300mg of Zantac a day made it much better for me. I think now I can eat a lot more liberally and drink, but I still can't do it consistently or else I'll feel crappy. Also, I notice I couldn't handle insoluble fiber well. Not sure if that's a side effect of being sick earlier or what, but that came after months of trial and error. I was really scared about having somethjng serious (everything from Celiacs to gallbladder disease to pancreatic cancer), but once I got the right doctors involved it was solved a bit quicker. One key is not feeling like a victim (trust me, this is hard) and accepting your food and drink limitations (also hard). Another thing is to "get outside your stomach." The more I did to take my mind off things and not constantly think about it, the better I felt. Hope you're all feeling better!
