Same happened with me mine only started 18 months ago, I used to always eat them but now I can’t without ending up in pain
I ate a banana on an otherwise empty stomach this morning and am experiencing these cramps... I also have the problem with avocados and raspberries! (Haven't been brave enough to try blackberries since these reactions started happening, but assuming they'd do the same thing)
i swear on my children, whenever I eat eggs or bananas, my stomach will have me curled up in a ball of pain. not nausea or diarrhea pain, but Labor like pains. I have spoken to many drs about this, and none can find a commonality...

Ok, so I thought I was crazy until reading all of these responses! I have always loved bananas and have recently found that each time I eat a raw banana I have excruciating stomach pains a few hours after. I do not have this reaction when putting them in my smoothies, just eating them raw. I double over in pain and have to lay down for awhile until the pain subsides :(
I got a pain after eating bananas and don't think I will eat any more bananas and unfortunately purchased 4 lbs of them.
I have IBS and according to the low FODMAP guidelines, ripe bananas can be a trigger, but just nearly yellow should be ok. I found that green bananas cause me discomfort, but not yellow ones. Experiment with different degrees of ripeness to find your comfort zone.
