I have issues with the EXACT same foods...do odd!!
Lightbulb moment! Recently I began having issues with nausea/vomiting and pain -and feeling dreadful- first it was my smoothie and then bananas- well I put bananas in the smoothies- duh!
What I can't explain is why it's just started happening in my 50s- I started a new medication for heartburn - name brand Tecta and have checked with the pharmacist- they can't see any connection- and was stung multiple times by hornets/wasps in July-I am following up with my doctor and to see an allergist (long wait time) so for now will hold off the bananas- too bad- loved them

I found out from my allergist that bananas are a cousin of the ragweed family. If you are allergic to ragweed this ca happen.
This is serious, my wife is in pain as I type this, she ate banana yesterday night , till this morning she is not herself. I think that the best remedy to this is for us to avoid those food that cause trouble to our system.
Hi there, I think you should eat banana after eating something. Don't eat bananas in empty stomach.

I suffer from pain too occasionally, but I know the reason and method to control it, you could try the same at home, it isn't difficult.
Its a sign of Ulcers existing in the stomach and that's the first symptom to tell you, that it is bad.
Cure:
1) Eat smaller amount of bananas but cut them into smaller pieces in warm milk with turmeric (1/2 tsp for 100gm of milk, you could increase it a lil more , personal choice)
2) It will take 3-4 days for the pain to start subsiding.
3) it takes about 30 days to get your ulcers under control
4) you could add a 1/2 tsp of honey to neutralize the taste of turmeric.
5) please note: this milk should be consumed just before going to bed and avoid drinking water for atleast 2 hours.
6) you might find yourself coughing out sputum when you get up in the morning, this is normal, the turmeric controls excess mucus.

I didnt feel so good earlier after eating banana. Thought it might be my gallbladder playing up again but then felt really sick. Yup! Did the vomiting and its def the banana that made me vomit. I never used to have this problems eating a banana. That was horrible! One min i was fine and next i felt run down, bad belly and shivering. Anyone been through this? :-(
I also have stomach pain after eating bananas,mushrooms,and almonds. I have found that if I take turmeric 500mg it relieves the pain. If I take it daily it prevents the pain. Turmeric can increase the activity of digestive enzymes which must be why it helps me. Taking digestive enzymes that I purchased at a vitamin store also helps. You should not take turmeric if you have gallbladder disease.
Shrimp and crabs have the same protein Chitinase that you could have an intolerance too
I also have the same problem. I found this page searhing for the reason of bad, BAD cramps just minutes after eating bananas. I have IBS and chronic gastritis and I know everything about cramping and pain but this is something very new to me.I am glad that I'm not crazy pointing my finger at bananas, because everyone say that they are friendly to digestive sistem.. I have cramps and instant bowel movement and I feel better right after #2.
Sounds like you might have food pollen allergy. It starts later in life and affects you if you eat a certain food or vegetable raw but not when cooked. Might be something to look into.
ME too. And I’ve NEVER had this problem Before!
I get a terrible stomachache when I eat a raw banana.. avocadoes too.. I read it's due too a lack of an enzyme needed to digest them. I can eat banana bread.. cooked bannas seem fine.
